Update: After the store responded to the original review(I tried editing but accidentally deleted it😅), it made me realize that I was getting a baby scoops even though requested two 1 Scoops, but pretty still paying for a regular 1 scoop, I had to check what I paid last couple times and it came out the same got a single scoop for a while and 2 scoops the last time. I am not going to sweat it to much now I know what its suppose to be, so I gave them a stars back. I hope that once they open again from renovations, I can give them back the last stars cause they are an excellent place for ice cream. Wasn't until I got the generous two scoops the last time that I found out I was getting Baby scoops for the previous 4 or 5 times but the price came out to the same for 2 x 1 Scoops. One in a cone and one in a bowl always to be around 9.50 or 9.80
Original: I only gave them three stars because my experience with their portions are horribly inconsistent, I have been quite a lot, some times a one scoop is very small, and then the next its almost like they give you two massive scoops. To put it in context, the difference is like going from a snack or mini size at DQ to closer to a regular/large. But they charge you the same amount.
Everything else is amazing. The flavors, staff, and the environment inside would easily change it to a 5/5 stars in a heartbeat if it wasn't for the...
Read moreDuring the Monday holiday, we're craving for funnel cake and have seen this ice cream restaurant online. We drove 30 minutes away just to buy their funnel cake and also to enjoy the lakeshore since they're just close to it. Line up was a bit long for assorted ice cream on a cone/cup orders, but have never seen others order funnel cake. Waiting for 1 order of funnel cake was too long which took around 20 minutes to prepare. Was disappointed to see from afar, the service crew holding the funnel cake inside the kitchen with bare hand, scoop ice cream and then use bare hands to arrange strawberries then squirted syrup on it. It was neatly packed inside a styro foam and put inside a paper bag. We were sitted infront of the lakeshore and was greatly disappointed to see a tiny single scoop (almost like baby scoop) vanilla ice cream at the center of the funnel cake like a regular size plate. Tastes just good but strawberries were a bit overripe. Their Ice cream in cones/cup probably tastes good because people were willing to wait in long lines to order. Enjoyed the vintage decors/designs hanging all...
Read moreWhy have I not been to this place before? There is a 50's & 60's theme throughout, including n g old posters of the Beatles & Elvis and 45's records decorating the tables. Jukeboxes at the tables, too! However, I don't think they are working as they all said out of order. " I came in just before closing, looking for something to eat other than pizza. Amber was working the cash and the owner Mario, who turned the deep fryer back on for me to have chicken fingers and fries. The portion was BIG! And very reasonably priced. He even invited me to sit and eat my meal even though he closed 15 minutes before. Maybe people have seen me inside because Amber went and unlocked the door to allow more people to come in and order ice cream. After seeing all that ice cream, I wanted a cone too, to which Mario said, "It's on me." Such a super friendly man and Amber just the sweetest girl. She speaks with a smile. Looking forward to returning next month. The chicken fingers were to die for. They do something special to them and are very generous too. Keep up the good...
