Visited Monday June 26th 2021@~1730hrs I want to start off by saying that the food was amazing! The steaks were tender and cooked to perfection right in front of us! Shout out to the chef in the glass booth, it was awesome to see a master at his craft work and then enjoy the fruit of his labour in front of him! What also really made it the best experience was the service. When we showed up, we realized we were severely underdressed "D'oh!" haha. It's been a few rough years and my dad who has terminal cancer was wearing a bright red bandana to protect his newly bald head and jersey shirt (just as an example). Our appearance did not seem to matter to the staff. They smiled and welcomed us, and in our opinion, even though we were not seated at a booth which is normally considered a better seat, we feel like we got the best seat in the house, right in front of the steak chef. Our server Mike was phenomenal, he deserves so much praise. He took the time to recommend items, he even pointed us in the better direction in terms of what cuts of meat to get, even if they were less expensive than the highest priced cut, he told us why we should go for a different cut and he did not steer us wrong. For example, going from the bone in ribeye to the regular ribeye which came to the same price in the end because he reminded us that we could ask for a bigger portions. All the servers that had interactions with us were amazing, one even suggesting how to finish off the shrimp sauce with our garlic toast, they all just made us feel welcome. Even though the place is high end and we didn't look the part, Mike and the team made us feel comfortable and welcomed. Would highly recommend the ribeye, Neptune steak, the pan grilled shrimp and the apple pie. Ribeye medium rare with an extra char on the outside (Chicago style) is the way to go. Sides like mushrooms and asparagus can be shared, they are big enough. Hope if anyone reads this is motivated to go, you might have to break open the piggy bank if this is not something you save your money for, but it is worth it! Clearly the staff reflect the leadership, the manager would even come around and pour our water from time to time. Great service made the food taste better. Thanks for making this a lasting memory! It had been a long time since it was just our dad and his kids, we all felt some relief that evening from our mothers passing last year and our dads condition, Cesar's really helped the laughs and good times flow and for this we are eternally grateful. Sorry if the review went a little sentimental in the end haha, but this place was worth every cent.

Came to celebrate my anniversary with my fiancé. Very cozy and excellent steakhouse and all staff were friendly and attentive. Front and centre of the main dining room they had the grill on full display and the colours and atmosphere were warm and inviting. We had a lovely server who was very knowledgeable about the menu and even knew the history behind some of the dishes and the restaurant itself. Very good attention to detail and had some nice recommendations. The food was nothing short of perfect, and all meals come with the option of garlic toast, cheesy toast, or both. My fiancé had the smoked salmon and I had the escargot to start. Escargot was what I’d expect from a higher end steakhouse like that but the smoked salmon was one of the better smoked salmon dishes I’ve had in a long time. Then moving onto entrees I had the filet (8.5oz) and my fiancé got the ribeye (10.5 oz) with their twice baked stuffed potato. I’m always weary about ordering my steak blue rare (or any other temperature because 90% of the time it’s overcooked to my taste) when eating out but with the reputation this restaurant has I knew I could trust them and boy did they deliver. And I like that the steak knives they use aren’t serrated because instead of tearing through the steak, it feels like you’re gliding through it. Only critique would be maybe throwing a couple veggies on the plate because as much as I love meat and potatoes, it does feel a little heavy after a while. Dessert was also very pleasant. I went with their sorbet of the day which was lemon and my fiancé had the vanilla gelato chocolate sundae and got a nice surprise when our waiter brought a third dessert which was a pavlova with strawberry sauce which went perfectly with my sorbet. Nice way to end our night. Maybe out of budget to go regularly, but very worth it for any special occasion.

Took my client out for some great Rib-eye and decided this would be the perfect place. First time ever in Calgary and in this steakhouse, the server did a horrible job. We entered and valet/coat check took care of us. Decided the lounge would be a better option for us, considering the dining table was booked up? We didn't mind the lounge, so we were escorted in. The food was great BUT we didn't feel we were taken care of. Our server's attention were with the other patrons . Upon ordering, we asked for 400g steak. Finally receiving our order, we were wondering why it was small, later we found out it was 300g.. The server would not admit apologies and simply responded along the lines of "I didn't hear you.". That's odd, in a quiet lounge room with 4 customers.. Despite being hungry, and of course a "busy" restaurant, we were quite lenient... to a certain point. We waited over 15-20 minute intervals to receive help, but only silence. The manager was point with us though, whenecer he would drop in and out. Nothing longer than a minute. But our server on the other hand, had that typical smug attitude the entire visit. We asked for water and BBQ, yet never received it. All we could see was her focus on serving wine to the other patrons. Maybe because they're older folks that would give her bigger tips? Who knows? Us millennials are probably key to a business, considering were the most active on review sites/social media. Anyways, This isn't the first experience I've had in "high end" restaurants. We just gave up at this point. Asked for the bill, and despite the agreement with my client to not tip, I still did. I received another discouraging gesture from the server as I requested my receipt after paying. Valet guy was on point. That's probably the only positive memorable experienced we had. This was definitely a one star rodeo for sure.. I won't be taking my clients here for dinner ever again.

Caesar's Steakhouse is an institution in Calgary. The downtown location, where we ate, is still going strong after 50 years. There is value in experience. Tuesday evening, the dining room was full. We had a reservation and were promptly seated. Within 5 minutes, our waiter, Constantine, took our drink orders. Soon after, he took our food order. Appetizers, a soup and a salad, cheese and garlic bread arrived within minutes as well. We ordered a Chateaubriand steak. It arrived about 1/2 hour after ordering. This is a two-person shared dish, cut and served table side. I requested Dijon mustard and horseradish as condiments and they were also served without delay. The steak was delicious. It came with a stuffed baked potato, asparagus and a few other lightly pan fried vegetables. Sour cream, bacon bits and chives soon crowned our potatoes, which almost completed with the meat for attention on our plates! It too was very tasty. Bearnaise sauce completed the plate. It was memorable. For desert, we had a pavlova meringue cake, which was worthy of the main course. Overall, we were amazed at the quality of the service, despite the room being almost full. The meat, Alberta beef, expertly prepared and served, was the star of the show. Every additional component on our plates was fresh and showed attention to detail. I have been to Caesar's a few times, years ago but post Covid, we were not sure what to expect. This turned out to be a real treat. Would I go back? Absolutely. Would I change anything? Perhaps I would order medium rather than medium rare. A matter of taste. Regardless, exceptional service, attention to detail and phenomenal, local food never goes out of style. Top marks for Caesar's. Let's hope they keep doing what they do for at least another 50 more years!

We had been at the Caesars Macleod location before but this was the first time that my husband and I tried the Caesar’s Downton Calgary location. We were quite excited as we had heard from a few friends that this location was the better of the two locations. Well it really wasnt. For starters we noticed our “clean” cutlery wasn’t really clean so we had to ask for it to be exchanged. Then we were given the menus and my husband decided to order the Bone on Prime Rib But the waiter said oh yeah we don’t have that cut right now. If they didn’t have it and they knew they didn’t have it then why didn’t they pre warn us before giving us 15 minutes with the menu to order the food. If you know you don’t have an item in the menu then say it right away . I ordered the Lobster tails and the moment it arrived to the table a secondary waiter came up from behind me and started cutting the lobster meat away from the tail shells without even asking me if i wanted that done (which i didnt, im fully capable and wanted to take a photo). I was actually quite upset about this because while he hovered over me cutting my food for me without my permission he kept talking OVER MY FOOD and sharing stories about his life. I didn’t want to cause a scene and get really upset in front of over patrons so I toughed it up and ate a little bit of my food but I was very upset and frustrated. I am quite disappointed with this Caesars location. They didn’t live up to the expectations . The Caesars on Macleod was definitely a better experience, better food display and I ate my food without any issue.

As a visitor from Vancouver, I was recommended from friends to try Caesar's steaks. The renovation there is so classy, the steak I ordered was done exactly as I want 👍🏻. However, I was confused about two things below and hope the restaurant may clarify: 1) French onion soup I saw a lot of reviews saying, french onion soup is a must try, some even saying it was caramelized but when we ordering, the waiter emphasized that it is just cheese melted on crouton. In fact, it is not taste as good as described in the most of reviews. So caramelized or not which is your restaurant standard ? 2) Hot water charges I've ordered hot water when I seated, and a moment later, the waiter come up and asked me whether I want lemon to add, and I said ok thanks, then he brought two lemon wedge put into our cup of water. To my surprise after meal is that I was charged for hot water. The most strange part is that they charged me two lemon honey water instead of hot water 🤨 why ?? The waiter explained that they must key in something to the system so they can have water pull out from the bar, what 🧐 ?? Honestly, I used to travel, and this is my first time to be charged for hot water, and never expected in a western cuisine restaurant. Please let us know, is this your restaurant's usual practice ? If so, why not tell the customer when they order or write into the menu so customers can have choices.
