HORRIBlLE. My husband and I were in the city on Saturday and thought it'd be great to see a show. We gave this place the benefit of the doubt...BAD MOVE.
So it started off that we came in early because we had made reservations and wanted to make sure we were there within the 45 minutes as printed on the tickets. The waitress they had that night was completely clueless, but we later found out she apparently just started. She went the bartender who reluctantly showed us our seats. I unfortunately had to use the bathroom, by the time I hit the top of the stairs all I could smell was urine. The bathroom dungeon consisted of one green light, one red one and while the toilets were somewhat clean, the mirrors and sinks were filthy.
As we were looking at the drink menu, the waitress and bartender were loudly telling stories about a night of drinking, the bartender swearing and carrying on very unprofessionally. It took them 15 minutes to get our drinks...please keep in mind we were the only ones there, literally the only TWO people who were 45 minutes early for the show. When we asked the waitress what she ate, she said she has no idea so just order some food. When we got our meals, the waitress brought the wrong meal to me (still the only 2 people in the venue) and upon taking it back we see the bartender roll his eyes when she said something to him.
5 minutes later she slams down my plate with what was supposed to be chicken with rice and veggies. My husband had ordered a burger with fries and gravy. I'm just going to shortlist everything wrong with the food. Burned burger, burned cheese on burger, rice was old, hard and also cold, chicken was dry, veggies tasted microwaved and my husband's fries were somewhat burnt. He choked down his burger because we had not eaten all day, I nibbled slightly on his fries. Surprisingly the gravy was decent.
When we moved my meal to the side and other people started to trickle in, the waitress grabbed my plate and threw it on the bar, and got drinks for the other customers. My husband asked for a 2nd beer that he never got. The bartender kept looking at the plate (my "food" the waitress dropped off on the bar) and he kept shaking his head and rolling his eyes at us. We finally had enough and decided to leave. I requested to the waitress a refund for our tickets and my meal, to which I was told I had to talk to the bartender. He then goes into the back and comes out with an even worse attitude saying he'll have to refund me ONLY the tickets and I'd have to wait minimum 4 days to get it online. Then he angrily typed into the computer and tried to charge me $15 for the two drinks and the one glass of WATER we had. I requested to speak to management and he continued to get ruder and say management doesn't have time to speak with us, so we left.
This was the first experience to have with The Comedy Cave. Very disappointed that would could have been a great night out turned into such a horrible...
Read moreBe prepared they charge for every pop or ice tea you have, it was a surprise. When I asked them about this after the bill was brought , I was shown on the menu, where it states this, in very small lettering. Other venues in the city do not charge for every single pop or ice tea. MAYBE the serve after the second drink, could let the customer know this, so its not a surprise. When this was brought to the man who looked like they were in charge, to make it right, they could have taken away at least half the charges, for some good vibes. Now we will not be back. For a DD to have to pay for every dang drink on a hot day, and they advertise to not drink and drive, this is in poor taste in my opinion for the DD to have to pay for more than a drinking person, thats crazy. 4 others were drinking they made money from our table. The service was not great nor was the food. We didn't get a burger but it may be helpful to know the one burger is over $18.00. Look it up on the menu. Look at their menu on line before you go. I wish I did.
The comedians were funny. We went for the comedy, this was all just To bad the DD had to pay more for their drinks than my 2 actual drinks. 12.20 for 4 ice tea. They were fountain drinks and not very big. Lastly, My fries came out cold. I did get new ones. Why would a place serve old and cold fries? 2...
Read moreComic was awesome, host was awesome and guest entertainer was awesome, HOWEVER, that’s where the awesome stopped. As most reviews say, the service here is actually horrendous, be prepared to wait MINIMUM 15 minutes for your first drink, and don’t bother even ordering a second, it’ll never come. My table literally witnessed the larger man with brown hair and a beard who was handling the drink station, leave the station for a good 5 minutes to go get a coffee for himself.. while drink orders were piling up. We arrived approx 6:45, got seated right away with our reservation no problem, the waitress didn’t come by till around 7:00 to get out drinks, which took another 15 minutes to get them as per the coffee break i mentioned, and she then proceeded to drop them off and not bother with a food order. We didn’t get our nachos which were an appetizer until the ribs were already delivered to the table, which was not fall off the bone by any stretch of the imagination. We wanted to come early enough that we could eat before the show, that did not happen. Food was delivered after the comic already started his routine. Come here for the comedy and have a drink or 2, but don’t bother ordering food and do NOT expect good service at all. Come for the laughs, that’s about all...
