I was really looking forward to try out a dish after tired day at a work. Just 30 mins before closing time. I had the most unsatisfied customer service from a server. I believe she is a Korean. I've asked saying "it is my first time here, what do you have for a menu"? She made me say it three times and with with most rude body face reaction on her face. After that she tell me we are sold out for the night. No professional in her service. I wonder if they even have any confidence or pride in there business!? Really disappointed. (This is a second, after the reply back from the owner of the business ad)
I think you are not understanding the point. She is probably not understanding the English in the first place or maybe she is on working holiday visa.....Like who knows.. Literally I clearly asked all three times. She had a wrinkle between her eyes with a squinch face appearance. Also she said "we are out of food for the night" with same face emotion. You think that is the way of mature customer service. I don't mean in race but, if you are going to hire someone to be able to handle responsibility in service. I think you should inform her to have more of a profession and, put some smile so customers will still have a mind of trying out...
Read moreAlways happy to support a small, local business, overall my experience at Koji Katsu was kind of mixed. The portion sizes are a definite highlight. They are very generous for the price, which makes it a good value. The yuzu sauce for the shrimp katsu was outstanding; it was a perfect, tangy complement that really elevated the dish. However, there were a few things that took away from the experience. The miso soup lacked flavor and tasted watered down; it could use more miso paste or seasoning in my opinion. I also felt the oil used for frying needed to be changed more often, as it gave the food a slightly off taste. I would caution against going on a hot day. It gets uncomfortably hot inside the restaurant, which made for a less than pleasant dining experience. Service was not bad, I wouldn’t say the server was particularly attentive, but when asking for water refills or the sauce for the cabbage salad they did get it fairly quickly. Overall, it's an okay spot, but there are definitely some improvements that...
Read moreIf your craving japanese katsu this place is a good location to get your japanese katsu fix, my friends and I came here around dinner time and we ordered four different dishes: cheese katsu set, cheese curry katsu, mixed katsudon and pork katsu nabe. The portion sizes were good and fair for the prices, everyone got pretty full from it. The food itself was crispy and flavorful, I highly recommend the katsu nabe but the cheese classic set is top tier as well. Just note that not all dishes come with salad and soup, if that's what your expecting. Although the menu is diverse the drink menu is pretty standard with only having water, soft drinks and tea which isn't a big deal personally but to some it may be. The location itself is easily accessible near west kerby station. The restaurant itself is pretty small yet cozy so just be aware there is limited seating during busy hours. There is a washroom. Service was good and really friendly and did make sure to check up on us if our food was good. Overall I do...
