Kibo Sushi Calgary Downtown West — Restaurant in Calgary

Pretty disappointed with this place. Ordered a Sashimi & Maki combo for takeout, which the description says it includes 9 pieces of sashimi and a California roll. Unfortunately, mine only came with 8 pieces of sashimi, and 3 of the 8 were very small. I would call that more like a 6 piece sashimi. Also the picture they had on their website doesn't even match what you get. The picture shows 2 Tuna, 3 Salmon, 2 Snapper, and 2 Ahi Tuna. What I actually got was 4 Salmon, 1 Tuna (seared tataki, not even a sashimi), 2 tiny pieces of Snapper, and 1 tiny piece of Ahi Tuna.

Secondly, I did not get any soy sauce packets with my order. I thought this was standard? Am I supposed to ask for it? And lastly, the guy working at the front isn't wearing a mask.

This is our go-to sushi spot in Calgary - mostly due to their excellent aburi rolls and sushi selections. The fish is always fresh and high quality, and we love the accompanying sauces that pair with each roll. Aside from aburi, hubby is a fan of the Omega roll because of the salmon roe.

This year, there was noticeable shrinkflation with substantially less pieces offered in each roll; however the quality and taste of ingredients make up for it. I once ordered the scallop hand cone, but I found it to be very overpriced for the size. Thus, I stick to their aburi and special rolls.

Great delivery take out sushi and other items. I used door dash. The only problem was the dumplings all stuck together by the time they got to us so they ripped apart when we tried to plate them and also there was not enough chopsticks but thankfully we had some extras at home. All of the food was good quality and enjoyable. Fresh and delicious. I would order take out from here again, and maybe we will go to the restaurant and dine one day. I can imagine it's only even better in house. So good. We had the salmon feast platter, yam avocado rolls, veggie gyoza, albacore tuna tataki, and miso soup. Everything tasted great.
