I recently visited Tupi Açaí in Calgary, and it instantly became my go-to spot for a taste of home. As a Brazilian living in Canada for almost 10 years, I’ve struggled to find authentic açaí, but Tupi Açaí nails it with their Brazilian-style offerings. The cozy atmosphere and the friendly, happy, and helpful staff made my visit even more enjoyable.

My kids had a blast trying all the gelato flavors and enjoyed every scoop. For those who have never tasted authentic açaí, keep in mind that the flavor is dense and strong—quite different from the watery versions often found elsewhere. It’s like comparing an espresso to an Americano; while I respect both, I'm definitely an espresso person.

I’ve been a loyal customer for quite some time now and at times come almost weekly, even driving in from outside the city because I genuinely enjoy the Açaí here. For a long time I didn’t bother collecting points, but recently I started using the rewards program. Unfortunately, they’re telling me each time I’ve come in the system isn’t working. Twice now over a few weeks. — my most recent visits haven’t added any points.

Not honoring the points system when a customer chooses to participate is terrible business etiquette. It makes loyal customers feel overlooked and undervalued, which is really disappointing given how much I’ve supported this place. First time trying an açai bowl, and I’ve heard great things about this place! Was really excited but a little confused on what I ended up ordering. I added protein powder to the bowl and upon opening it, it wasn’t mixed in? I am unsure if this is the norm for when you add protein powder, but I didn’t enjoy the taste of the powder just loose dust like in each bite. I ended up leaving half of it because it just wasn’t tasting right. Also i anticipated the bowl itself to look beautiful like these other reviews, but unfortunately mine was a smush, I would have preferred being asked if I wanted the lid off or on as I was about to eat it right after being handed it anyways.
