I loved how it has been there for years and it is still going well. When we asked the chef she mentioned that Fish is fried separately and nothing is fried with it. In addition, the fries are fried separately as well. When we sat and were ready to order, the waitress told us that Chicken is fried with Fish and Fries have separate oil. We were very frustrated with that information. We end up ordering Fries, Onion Rings and Soft Serve. The food tastes good but the volume for onion rings with the price tag of $7.80 is so small. I did let the waitress know about this but she didn't pay any mind to it as if she doesn't really care. Please see the onion rings below 👇 for the volume we were given for $7.80.

The food is amazing.the service could use a bit of a shine, there is usually 1 server working the whole floor. tarter sauce is in packets, wish they had fresh or a jar or squeeze bottle, the packets are bad for greasy fingers and the environment. Too bad the pop is not fountain pop and refillable. This place could change a few things. But they are super clean, food is hot and fresh and not to mention delicious. The fish was crispy outside and perfectly cooked inside. They even took us in for dine in about 40 mins before closing time. This spot is ALWAYS busy for take out! We know why! Would definitely eat here again, this was my 3rd time :)

First time in cambridge decided to grab a bite here. I mean i don't mind spending money on food, however it felt like I Paid more for the batter, very little fish for the price. U could tell waiter was in Experienced, when he didnt find us for a few mins and would come around at the corner and ask are we OK.. Ok so not all bad news, my wife's dish or club sandwich was a killer.. so good... I should have gone with that instead. My haddock was tasty just a small battered version. For the price not worth it.. Would I come bye again sure but not for fish and chips. Maybe for the club sandwich.

This classic fish'n'chips eatery is found near the Cambridge Sculpture Garden & Hamilton Family Theatre. It has a coziness about it owing to the wood trim, knickknacks, and wood stove in the back room which overlooks park. The menu lists all the standard fare such as pollok/haddock/halibut/cod with chips, shrimp & chips, scallops & chips, coleslaw, mushy peas etc. The dinners consist of one piece of delicately battered fried fish & fries. Both are crispy but not soggy or greasy. Although the fish is a good size & the chips are a generous portion, everything else that one would expect with a dinner is an add on for an additional price. The dinners range from $11.95 for Pollock to $15.95 for cod so with coleslaw & mushy peas, the dinner would come close to/over $20.00. I'm not used to paying so much for fish'n'chips. The server was a friendly, helpful woman who came out to tell me about the accessibility ramp(at the back) when she saw me standing by the front steps with my walker. After I had made my way in, she came to take my take out order as there are steps to the counter. Accessibility: 🌟🌟 ramp at the back, cramped tables, no access to front room or counter due to steps, washroom unknown but...

A "fish and chip shop" with frozen chips! Pretty much says it all... We used to go quite frequently for their beautiful breakfast, meeting up with friends and family, my wife and I stopped in for a breakfast recently, and were appalled at how far downhill one of Cambridge's great little breakfast hideaway's had gone. We will not be returning. My breakfast was swimming in oil, Dry silver dollar frozen home-fries...Key word "Home-fries" Canned beans,Broken egg, Precooked Packaged sausage, coffee was bitter...likely a very cheap brand, and the service was mediocre at best! the table was even sticky! I felt I should have got up and left, but to save my wife's embarrassment, I let them steal and not earn my hard earned money. I feel whoever now owns the shop has lost sight of why they chose to be in the restaurant business... They need a new "Mission Statement" that incorporates the words "FRESH"and "LOCAL" and the...

My husband Gerry and I were there for dinner. I had haddock and chips. Gerry had Cod and chips. We both enjoyed our meal. It was the best fish I have had in a while. I liked that there was actually a good portion of fish, it was soft and most importantly, lightly battered . I have been to places where the batter was very thick with very little fish inside...just horrible. ...not so at Barnacle Bill's. The fish and chips came hot to the table, which I absolutely loved as well. Nothing is worse than being served cold food. With our meal, we got a slice of bread and coleslaw. My haddock and chips was almost $19.00, but I can tell you, it was well worth the price. I had 1 piece of haddock which was enough for me. You do have the option to have 2 pieces. The restaurant is very clean and the service prompt, with friendly staff. There is parking. This restaurant is opposite the Cambridge Theatre and close to...
