The location is not the best, but if you can get past the crowd and the front door it's worth it.
We came late at night, right before the kitchen was about to close (which we didn't know about until we walked in). And we also came with a very large group. Honestly they had all the reason to kick us out, but the staff took care of us regardless. Since we were late we just picked the soup broth and 5 add-on's.
I got the Herb and Lamb broth. It was delicious, savory, and hearty. And for the add-on's, I picked the sliced Beef Sirloin, Enoki Mushroom, Napa Cabbage, Fried Tofu and Flat Rice Noodles. They didn't have Fried Tofu so I asked to substitute for Fried Bean Curd instead. Looking back at this now, I'm glad (and I'm sure the kitchen was too) that we only picked 5 things. AYCE would've been too much and too overwhelming with all the options there. And honestly, they gave us so much for the 5 things we ordered. It was a whole spread of meat and veggies. I was actually very impressed.
Portion size was huge. I was also impressed by the service we received. It was late, but they really took care of us as patrons. It's a 4.5/5 for me. Definitely one of the best service I've received at a sit-down restaurant/food business and I wish this...
Read moreI went there on sunday in August 2019. I ordered my meals as usual for lunch combo. But when i was going to pay and leave , one of the waitress started talking to me , saying, oh , you should use your credit card more instead of the Alipay(which is paying by Chinese currency over a different machine), she said you should build your credit score so you can buy a house in the future, and , I told her that i have some chinese Yuan in my chinese bank account and wanted to use it since you guys have the Alipay here, and then she continued been very rude saying , ok, then you should spend more money buying luxury purses at holt renfrew DOWNTOWN so you will spend the money quicker there. WTF? Is it your business to teach people how to spend their money? Or you are just having a bad day because of the slow business ? If you want to improve your business, improve your services first . But I can tell you now , that you lost my business as i was a regular, and i will tell everyone i know not to go to your place , because people in your restaurant are so judgemental and dont know how to do the...
Read moreFirst time trying hot pot. There's a China Town Edmonton special going on right now so I wanted to capitalize and try something new. This authentic hot pot restaurant is a great place to interact (by cooking your own food) while having a meal. The portions are so big and I was stuffed at the end. The ladies (service) were really sweet because they helped my friends and I with all our questions about our first time at hot pot. I think for first timers, bring someone that knows their stuff. I did find the food fresh. I recommend all the slice meats. I was not a fan of the lobster. Definitely include some vegetables rather than only sticking to meat so you have a good balance of flavors. Shrimp was good but, you do have to take the skin off after cooking. The green onion cake was probably one of the best I had in a long time (if you want to get a side dish). I also really appreciated the free 2 hour parking at the front for a...
