If you're anything like me, finding a nice place to relax and have night cap after a dinner out with friends tops off the evening real well. My wife and our good friend Linda went out for dinner as our usual Saturday night outing. After dinner we had a hankering for authentic East Indian Chai for our second stop of the night. We usually go to a specialty shop for a dessert or a place that is known for their good coffee or tea. Sometimes we'll even drive quite a distance to go to that special place. In this particular instance, the place was very near by. As a matter of fact it was right next door. The place is called Namaste India Authentic East Indian Cuisine. They were surprised that we came in just to try their authentic chai and not for their wonderful looking buffet. After several long minutes we finally had our wonderful waitress Jasbeer come to our table with our order. We noticed a small amount of nutmeg spice mixture in the bottom of our cups. She explained that the process to make their chai takes longer than just ordinary tea. She poured each cup and served us individually. We then all noticed the incredible aromatic spice in the air. We all expressed our delight at the same time. It was literally one of the best authentic chai we've ever had. We sat and enjoyed our company while sipping on a very memorable drink. If the chai was this good, we have already made arrangements to go back and try their incredible looking buffet. Thanks Jasbeer, you made our experience that much more...
Read moreThis review isn’t about the food,it’s about the extremely disappointing service I recently experienced. I placed a takeout order through DoorDash yesterday, and unfortunately, I received the wrong order. I understand that mistakes can happen,it seemed like a mix-up between the restaurant and the Dasher. However, what truly upset me was how the situation was handled afterward. I called the store and asked to speak with the manager to explain what happened. Instead of showing concern or offering a simple apology, he immediately got defensive and said, “We gave the right order ,it must have been because of similar names.” That would’ve been understandable if the names were actually close ,but “Palakpreet K” and “Paramjeet K” are clearly not the same. When I pointed that out and mentioned I also work in the same industry, hoping he’d understand the importance of owning up to a mistake, he responded with condescension and attitude, saying, “Well, if you work in the same industry, you should know better.” I was stunned. Is this really the caliber of service from a manager? I wasn’t rude, I wasn’t blaming anyone ,I was just trying to voice a genuine concern as a customer. Instead, I was met with arrogance, defensiveness, and absolutely no accountability. This was, without exaggeration, the worst customer service experience I’ve ever had and it came directly from someone who’s supposed to lead the team. I’ve never felt so dismissed and disrespected...

The service is equally impressive, with staff who are friendly, attentive, and always ready to make your visit enjoyable.
One of the highlights of this restaurant is their Saturday night buffet. It’s an absolute delight for anyone who loves fresh, flavorful, and diverse Indian cuisine. From a wide selection of dishes showcasing different spices to delicious desserts that end the meal on a perfect note, the buffet is worth every penny. The price is very reasonable, especially considering the quality and variety offered. The food is always fresh, and every dish feels like it was made with love and attention to detail.
The only thing I wish for is that they’d extend their buffet to another day of the week. A second day would be perfect for those of us who can’t get enough of their incredible offerings. This restaurant truly raises the bar for Indian cuisine in Edmonton, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great meal with excellent service.
