This restaurant is a hidden gem💎 that you must find. I am so happy to experience such an athentic cuisine at this restaurant. I and my friend were so ready to eat a lot today because we waited for right day to come here and today was the day :) we ordered chicken feet, pork entrails, and pork long feet. We assumed that it would be excessive portion for only two of us but we could not give up on any of them. 😎First of all, the pork long feet exceeded our expectation. Both taste and portion were so great and 'prawn and chive pancake' was served as an appetizer before pork feet(it was complimentary😍😍). And speaking of the pork feet, it was the best, and the best...🤩 I have never tasted this pork feet ever since I came to Canada. I can feel how authentic it is. And I also was able to feel the enthusiasm of chef toward the food. It was obvious that the cuisine was cooked with lots of love and effort. And next surprising one was stir-fried entrails. Not many restaurants serves it in Vancouver because it is not easy to get rid of the bad smell of the pork intestine. However, this place did such an awesome job on it. I barely noticed that it is pork intestine. It was pleasantly chewy, and two sauces came along with it went perfectly well. It magnified the nutty flavor of the pork intestine. I loved and loved it. And last one that I expected even in my dream was spicy chicken feet. It was perfectly marinated with the sauce and I am personally not so good at dealing with spiciness, but it was not overly spicy. I did not drink a lot of water, which was good because I need some space in my stomach for the food!! And we also ordered a rice ball because chicken feet and rice ball must be ordered together. They go along so well! Overall, my experience at this place was truly the best. And although it is pretty far for me to visit here, I will be regularly going to this place to make my tongue and stomach happy. I must recommend this place for all, especially those who are having homesickness or just sick and tired of...
Read moreCame here tonight for dinner at around 7pm after seeing the 4.4 stars rating. When I walked in I knew that something was off because the place was dead empty, there was only one other table eating. Very rare for this to happen for a restaurant of such high rating, especially at dinner time on a friday night. I guess the owner him/herself knew this as well because there seemed to be only two staff members working: the waitress and the cook (may be the owner).
We ordered a plate of chicken and a sausage hotpot soup. For $27 the quantity of the chicken was on the smaller end, considering that most of the pieces were tiny and mostly flour. The taste was very average and nothing spectacular like how many of the reviews suggested. Dissapointing.
Moving on what was even worse was the sausage hotpot soup. Whatever you do, do NOT get this item. Just take a look at my picture and judge for yourself. $15 for a couple slices of spam and sausage, tofu, a slice of cheese, and kimchi. The item was basically 80% all soup, 20% ingredients. Whats worse is that the soup itself wasn't all that great either.
I guess the best thing I ordered tonight was the bowl of rice for $1.50.
For a bill of around $50, the quality and quantity of food is definately lacking. I would recommend that if you want korean fried chicken in Coquitlam, go to OZ instead.
Theres a reason why no one goes here. Not...
Read moreNew owners and new smaller menu as of July 17, 2020. Now it is basically just a chi/mek place serving Korean style chicken and beer, and a few other items typical at a Korean chicken and beer restaurant. See pictures for new Menu. I went expecting the old menu, but was going mostly for the chicken anyways, so we stayed. We had the half half chicken in spicy and soy/garlic and the shrimp and green onion pancake with a few bowls of rice on the side. The chicken was quite good, juicy with nice flavour and the batter was not too thick or crispy. This is not like the double fried super crispy chicken at some Korean places. I found it easy to eat, tasty, and it had a good batter to meat ratio. The spicy side was not too spicy. The pancake was exactly what I expected, was well made and cooked well. Crispy on the outside and cooked just right inside. It came with a sweet and spicy dipping sauce/side. The staff were very nice and responded quickly to the buzzer on the table. However, since this is during Covid, I think we were the only customers eating in. Staff all wore masks and they took our info for contact tracing. I took a star off due to the new and very restricted menu. Also, they gave us a salad to share but no other rice or sides came with the items we ordered. Overall, I would go back for the chicken. If you want chicken and beer,...
