I have been to this place a few times (over the years) and I am quite disappointed with my recent take out order.
Lemongrass Chicken Skewers - I find the meat pretty dry; not tender in the mouth.
Pa-Nang Curry: very much diluted. On the menu it says this is a thick curry, however, comparing to the pa-nang curry I had at other Thai restaurants in Vancouver, this is a very watered down version of the real pa-nang curry. And since when does frozen peas (instead of actual green beans) appear in authentic Thai curry? The peas is just a very cheap version to replace green beans.
Beef Mus Sa Mun Curry: this dish was too too too sweet, like the beef and vegetables were cooked in honey and nothing else. I do have a sweet tooth, but even I was surprised that I can't tolerate the sweetness of this dish.
Jasmine Rice: the jasmine rice that came with the curry was very dry and not cooked thoroughly.
I find my money wasted for this experience. I think the 4.6/5 rating was from old ratings, because the food quality at this restaurant has definitely gone down. I think their green and red curries are still probably acceptable (haven't checked it for myself recently), but when my friends ask me for recommendation, I tell them that if they choose to go to this restaurant, do NOT order any fried rice or fried noodle dish (pad thai, pad kee mao, thai fried rice, etc.); they will find themselves...
Read moreNot worth it! For what my family & I paid for dinner tonight I wouldn't be going back anytime soon! I had asked the person who answered the phone for pickup if what I had ordered was going to be enough for four people. He said to me that typically the dishes that I ordered would be enough for one person so he recommended that I ordered another dish. I had already ordered swimming rama with chicken with coconut rice instead of jasmine rice. Pad see iew with prawns and two orders of the summer roll. Like I said I asked if this was enough for four people and he said no he said that I had to order another dish so I ordered pineapple fried rice. I also had asked how much coconut rice was and if one would be enough for four people. he said that they were very small and that I should order four individual coconut rice which I thought was ridiculous! Also the pad see iew was absolutely disgusting and inedible! The rice noodles looked very weird and none of us even touched it. Well my dad tried a bit and said it was odd. At the end of the day the dishes that we got some were good some not very good and for the price that we paid ($89!!) I would not be going back here again for food. There are far better Thai restaurants that I would much rather give my service...
Read moreUpdated Feb 6 2024. Unfortunately the Skip and Doordash couriers crowd around the tables in the front and really ruined our dining experience. One was watching videos loudly on his phone while waiting for his pickup. The other dropped his bag in the middle of the very narrow walkway and just left it there. The tables are right on either side of the door and there is literally no place to stand except directly beside the tables and it really cold, noisy and uncomfortable having someone standing so close to your table. Please fix this or I won't be back and that will make me sad. On a more minor note, I really think the bright lights you have installed really detract from the intimate warm atmosphere. There has to be a better system.
Original 5 star review. I have been coming here through 2 different ownerships and now the 3rd. The food and service is just so amazing, every time. A perfect dining experience and I reckon the best Thai food in the Lower Mainland and maybe beyond. Just so good. Prices are very fair in this time where it seems like many restaurants have increased by 50%...
