Our family had a wonderful dine in experience yesterday. We were greeted by the owner who was top notch throughout our dinner. Every bite was amazing, from appetizers to dinner...you tasted all the quality ingredients and not a sign of "oil" smearing under the rice or on any of the dishes. We ordered the following; Fish Pokora, Paneer Pakora, Butter Chicken, Palak Paneer, Goat curry(spicy), Raita, Rice and Naan(sooooo soft, yum) ...and a Mango Lassi - all were stellar. The ambience itself, is not the "modern upstream" you have the "fancy" restaurants...but a classic family mom/pop shop vibe where you feel the food is authentically cooked with family love. A local family providing phenomenal authentic Indian food in the community of New Westminster for over 20 years! We will be back, Thank you Bhaji.

The owner was very proud when he greeted us and said he’s owned the place for 24 years and made everything fresh. I was excited and had high hopes especially since I was ordering a very simple side snack: samosa and paneer pakora. There’s no way to screw that up. Let me say, he has nothing to be proud about. There was nearly no paneer in the pakora and it was heavily battered to compensate for the lack of substance. It arrived with the tiniest, greediest portion of tamarind sauce which is not enough for all the pakoras or to mask the rubbery texture, dryness, and bland taste. The samosas were good but again, next to no tamarind sauce. I would never consider ordering again and would personally be ashamed to serve something like this to my patrons. Awful.

Dined in with my friend on a weekday and we enjoyed having the whole restaurant to ourselves to catch up and not feel any rush. Everything we ordered was SO flavorful and delicious, and I wish I lived closer to eat this every day. I'll be back for sure!! I can't remember the names of the dishes since I don't have this cuisine often but I loved every bite. Service was perfect. The owner was very welcoming, gracious and kind and took the time to chat with us at the end of our meal briefly. So often in the modern world we lose touch with family businesses and don't see the faces of who we are supporting, so it was inspiring to hear the owner's passion when he talked about his restaurant. Do try their food!

EXPENSIVE and EXTREMELY SMALL PORTIONS of food. Quite possibly because we were using a mobile bandit coupon. I definitely felt a very unfriendly vibe from the individual working. No smile, no thanks you, and just simply BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE. But besides that... Just rating the food I would give it 1/10... I cannot justify 13$ for 1 small chicken breast... I ordered the Tandoori Chicken Tikki and it was just a small chicken breast cut up on top of some white onions... It still gets a 1 because the food was edible. For the ambience,

For the ambience inside I would give this place a 5/10. It's actually a pretty nice restaurant inside, but the outside definitely could be better 1/10.

Customer service was poor 1/10, as mentioned above. Not very friendly after I showed the person working my mobile bandit coupon. I don't deserve this type of treatment for wanting to use a coupon. I felt DISCRIMINATED against for being a coupon user. Just not friendly at all.

Me and my friend went here today because we had a mobile bandit app which had several coupons for us to use. 10$ worth of food for 5$ 20$ worth of food for 10$ and 30$ worth of food for 15$ so I thought it was a great opportunity to try out this indian cuisine.

So I assumed we would probably order about 20$ worth of food for 10$, so I showed the individual the coupon before we ordered so that he would know that we were using mobile bandit. He gave us the menu and everything was quite expensive. So we ordered anyways since we were hungry. 13$ for a Tandoori Chicken Tikki and 14$ for a Lemon chicken. He then said how there was no sauce with the Tandoori Chicken, and recommended the Butter Chicken, but my favourite was the Tandoori Chicken Tikki. Then we were very hesitant about ordering rice which was extremely expensive... 4$ for not even a cup of rice. We ordered 2 Rice and sat down. When the food arrived it was an EXTREMELY SMALL portion... I would say my Tandoori Chicken Tikki was 1 small chicken breast on top of some white onions.... The rice came in 1 bowl. It was about a cup of rice... for 8$.... We were pretty dissapointed. After we ate, the bill was delivered to our table, and then I asked to use our 30$ worth of food for 15$ coupon and they said they couldn't do that since I showed them the 20$ worth of food for 10$ coupon. The person working said it was impossible to use the 30$ worth of food for 15$ coupon now. He said we had to mention the coupon. I did mention it now... but apparently it's too late. I looked on the coupon and nowhere did it say I had to mention it at any specific time. He brought the menu and it just said you had to mention the coupon. Which I said I did.... but he said he could not do...

Extremely poor customer service. They gave us complimentary extra rice but when we went to pay they wanted us to pay for it after they realized we were using a coupon from the mobile bandit app. They stated that if we use a coupon we should have told them beforehand because the portion sizes will be smaller and they wouldn't have given us extra rice.

Why would you get a smaller portion size if you use a coupon? Nowhere on the coupon does it say it's for a sample size. It simply said $10 off your meal. I was appalled.

The manager was extremely unprofessional and created a huge scene by pulling change out of his pocket and saying if I don't pay for the rice ($6) he will have to pay from his own pocket because the owner will blame the waitress and manager for stealing rice.

We paid and left but I will never be back. There's lots of other lovely restaurants here I would rather support. This is my first time being in a situation like that and it was unnecessary and embarassing.

This happened a few months back and I don't usually write reviews but everytime I see this restaurant I always remember what happened so decided to give a fair warning to anyone who tries to use a coupon here that you will be getting what you pay for, a much...
