Popped in randomly just a few days ago.
I saw eggs benedict on the menu and decided to give it a try.
Terrible value. Looks like kid's portions for $12. It was not worth the price.
The eggs benedict itself, the one that was edible was fine. The 2nd one contained a 3 inch long grey hair sticking out of the sauce on to the plate.
The servers never came to do a quality check so I brought the plate to show them. They decided to argue saying that the hair is part of the eggs.
I picked up the hair, pulled on it and it didn't break. It's not egg, it's absolutely grey hair.
They offered nothing to compensate for their disgusting lack of food quality.
I wasn't unreasonable, I paid for my bill but I did not tip.
I did not eat that hairy eggs benny.
The coffee was mediocre. The service as you can already tell, unacceptable.
I did hear the cook ask what was wrong with my food but the servers kept telling him it was "string from the egg."
I won't go back. If I could give 0...
Read moreEdit: I have been back 3x since my first review. Their omlettes are the best imho. Perfectly fluffy and folded. I love this place❤️ I love giving 5 star reviews to places that i feel are perfect and here we are again. Hidden little gem on the west end that is a walk down memory lane for me. Very nostalgic feel with the decor and i love it! Comfy counter seating and booths/tables. Friendly staff that are genuinely happy to see you. Open the menu to prices that will pleasantly suprise. I had breakfast which was the avocado omlette with cheddar cheese salsa, and rye toast, fruit bowl (fresh and clean and sweet), coffee, and a side of beans. So yummmm. The omlette was fluffy and just the perfect amount of cheese. I love to portion my pieces so i can smash them onto my toast, i dont know if anyone else does this but if you do its important that the omlette doesnt fall apart. It didnt! The restaurant was clean as well. I want to try other items on the menu and i will review...
Read moreWe had a fantastic first experience at Pat & Mike’s recently with my family visiting from Calgary! Everything from the kids cheeseburger, to the classic and steak eggs Benedict (good size, thick steak), the Undecided Breakfast and my breaded veal cutlets were really tasty! The only thing that could have been better were the veggies served with my veal - they were a bit watery.
The service was old-school diner friendly and the restaurant itself felt like an old-school family restaurant/diner. I’m definitely looking forward to going back again soon. If you’re thinking of going to Denny’s on the corner of 178th & Stoney Plain Rd, do yourself a favour and drive the extra two minutes North to Pat & Mike’s - food quality is much better and prices are...
