I DoorDash right now to bring a little bit more money to the table,
Came in too pick up and order and deliver it to someone who was 8 minutes down the road on whyte ave,
The manager there refused my service because I lacked a thermal bag, I stayed respectful and stated that I left it at home and I’ve picked up offers without one while still being able to maintain the heat of the food on top of that I told him the guy lived down the road so it would be impossible for the food to get cold, I’ve never ran into this incident at any of my other orders or even other McDonald’s,
Instead of allowing me to earn the 8 dollars from driving from jasper that would at the end of the day would’ve went straight to my gas tank, he still Insisted and refused to allow me to get the job done,
Stating that “it’s for the customer” and that “I should do my job properly” in a very rude tone, yes it’s for the customer and now the customer has to wait longer to get this meal because he refused my service,
I tried to talk to him but he repeatedly said “get out of my store” over and over again when I was just trying to do my side gig,
The manager took me as I was trying to cause a scene and walk all over me even though I stayed in a calm and timely manner,
The manager was a smaller philipino man, and for him to handle me as a guy who’s trying to work just like him in such an unprofessional and unproductive way should not be in a manager position, I even asked him, “sir would you lose your job if you let me earn this $8 dollars” and he said “no why would I?”.
Managers like him should not be in that position as they abuse their powers and act higher up when instead your supposed to lead and set an example not talk rude and unprofessional to someone who’s just trying to get by.
No wonder this McDonald’s has a 3.2...
Read moreOn this visit, I placed my order ahead on the app as I usually do. I know from experience the app does not allow you to request a bag, it defaults to "no bag" with no option to change it. Instead of processing the order myself, I asked for a bag specifically as it's a group order. When I drove up to the first drive thru window, instead of processing my app payment directly, the drive-thru asked me to pay again, which I found unusual. I was reassured it was just a payment issue and that I would still receive my points.
Because my order was larger, I was asked to wait at a reserve spot, which was exactly why I needed the bag. When the order arrived, there was no bag. I reminded the employee I had requested one, but was told it had not been charged correctly. Rather than simply resolving the issue, the manager came out and claimed I had refused a bag — even referencing details from what seemed to be another customer’s order. She then dismissively said, “It’s OK, I heard you saying no to a bag, but here’s your bag,” and walked away.
I understand the store may face frustration from customers regarding the city’s bag bylaw, but being dismissive and making incorrect assumptions without confirming the facts is unprofessional. My request was clear, and the situation could have been resolved more courteously.
Finally, in addition to the unprofessional interaction, I later realized the way my order was processed at the drive-thru did not correctly log it in the McDonald’s app, meaning I will have to manually enter it to...
Read moreAbsolute worst experience I have ever had at a McDonalds or any fast food shop for that matter. The bathrooms as well as the dining area were absolutely filthy. I ordered the special that was so clearly advertised on the front board on top of the cashier: Two egg McMuffins for 5 bucks. The cashier who also appears to be the manager on shift then charges me nearly 10 dollars for it and tells me that I need a coupon in order to get the two for 5 dollar deal. Why would I need a coupon to get something that's CLEARLY advertised on the front menu? No where on that advertisement does it say that a coupon is needed. After a bit of an argument, she finally rings me in at 2 for 5 bucks. I then proceed to wait a whopping 15-20 minutes for these two egg mcmuffins! There were only two orders before me and literally about four people in the restaurant at the time. During the course of this 15 minute wait, the manager kept arguing and shouting at a worker to get back on shift. All of this is happening in front of the paying customers. This manager was in NO WAY friendly to either customers or to the workers. They also continued to make THE IN STORE CUSTOMERS wait an eternity while they accommodated all of the Uber eats drivers. Way to isolate your in store patrons Mcdonalds! Finally, my order comes up and the manager pretty much shoves the bag in my face as if to get rid of me. Awful experience and will...
