I love the atmosphere of this place, though it was a bit too warm the few times I went. The staff is very friendly and service is really quick. It is a bit on the expensive side though. They have a variety of interesting cocktails but you tend to go though those really quickly given the serving size. My first meal there was their burger week burger, which was honestly amazing. The patty was grilled, heavily seasoned and spicy. Their guac and salsa are amazing, and I do enjoy the different table sauces. I had a few things off the food menu, including the grilled octopus, pork carnitas tacos, green chicken enchilada, guacamole trio, churros. I enjoyed all the guacamole dips, and unfortunately I was let down by everything else. The octopus was really overpriced and I couldn't taste anything... The tentacles were really small compared to everywhere else I had them and they were really tasteless. The enchiladas didn't leave much of an impression, the tacos, while it did have really moist meat, was also underseasoned, but adding one of the hot sauces saved it. If they could incorporate more of that flavour into their meals it would be perfect. I want to assume it's because most native Nova Scotians have a reputation of not being able to handle spicy but if it means the flavor of your food suffers then what's the point? Have A non-spicy option for those persons and let everyone else enjoy their meals the way they should be. The Churros also let me down. I'm a big churro lover but my batch at least, was missing something. Overall though this place has amazing potential and lots of people seem to enjoy their food. The place is always packed, and it's definitely a good contribution to Argyle. The Variety of dishes offered brings new life to a city that is overcrowded with pubs and their typical dishes that are honestly pretty boring. So it's nice to see someone step up and liven up the place with something new. I just wish it tasted as good as it looked.

The service was impeccable! Adélaïde, my server, gave great recommendations and was incredibly attentive. The atmosphere was great, and the prices were very affordable. I highly recommend it!

Really nice, lively spot! We made a reservation for 5:30 on a Friday through Open Table and didn't wait at all to be seated. Even arriving at that relatively early time, the place was still busy, so make sure to have a reservation if you decide to come here. Our table was located near the back of the restaurant, very close to the kitchen. We didn't mind too much, but others might not like the noise and constant traffic. The atmosphere is really nice here - kind of casual and offbeat. I really like the wall decorated with tequila crates and the DĂa de Muertos motifs throughout. Drinks were delicious, but really on the pricey side. I got a michelada (pictured) which was pretty good, but definitely not the best I've ever had. The food was good, but not amazing. I like that they bring out taco chips and three kinds of salsa, all made in-house and really fresh. I started with a Sopa de Lima which was tasty, but the onions were almost raw. It was like they kept the broth at temperature and threw in the raw ingredients a few minutes before serving. For our mains, my wife got the chicken tacos, which she said were pretty good, other than a bit where she got a morsel of something with a suspicious texture. I ordered the Rabbit Mixiote because I've always wanted to try rabbit. It was ... kind of a let down? The texture was really firm, and I only had a butter knife to cut it with which made the whole endeavour quite labour-intensive. It was also a lot less seasoned than I was expecting, considering how gamey rabbit is. Regardless of my few gripes, I'd still come back, though next time I'll stick to beer and the more mainstream menu items.

Our group visited Antojo's for Burger Week, specifically because they were listed as offering both dairy-free and gluten-free alternatives. Unfortunately, the experience didn’t live up to those expectations.

When we ordered, we confirmed whether the listed dietary accommodations were available, only to be told there were no gluten-free or dairy-free options after all. Staff mentioned they weren’t affiliated with Burger Week, which was surprising—if that’s the case, it’s unclear how their burger ended up on the official website in the first place.

We asked if the burger could be served on corn tortillas as a workaround, but were told that would be too messy. They did offer to visit one of their other locations and see if they had a GF bun or other alternative, but didn't seem confident that they would. As we were already hungry and didn't want to wait, we ultimately settled on lettuce wraps, with reassurance that they’d be sturdy and wouldn’t require a fork and knife. Unfortunately, they fell apart almost immediately and weren’t practical to eat by hand.

When the food arrived, we also noticed that the two lettuce wrap burgers didn’t come with the chips and salsa listed on the menu. The server explained that the chips were cross-contaminated. While we understand the concern, it was confusing since the regular menu indicates a gluten-free option is available for the chips. More importantly, we weren’t informed ahead of time that the side would be omitted—we were still charged full price for the meal and weren’t offered anything to make up for the missing item until prompted.

We received a couple of tortillas as a consolation, and my partner ended up putting the burger on one himself, as originally requested—which, in the end, worked out fine. But overall, 3/4 of our group had a disappointing experience. The lettuce wraps were difficult to eat, and two out of three of the tacos were underwhelming. The one highlight was the frozen margarita of the day. If you do not have any dietary restrictions, the burger is quite tasty as per the 1/4 of us that could enjoy it.

In short: if you're planning to visit for dietary accommodations, it’s best to call ahead and confirm—even though, ideally, you shouldn't have to. We left feeling let down, especially considering we paid full price for a meal that didn’t meet expectations or match what...

Whoa, dude! I've got some righteous news for you. I recently scored some epic tacos and tequila at Antojos Tacos and Tequila in Halifax, and it's a total game-changer for the Canadian taco scene, eh?

First off, the vibe at Antojos is as welcoming as a warm Canadian smile. It's got this chill, laid-back atmosphere that's perfect for chowing down on tacos and sipping tequila. The maritime-inspired decor gives it that extra dose of cool.

Now, let's get down to the nitty-gritty – the tacos, man. They've got a lineup of tacos that could make any surfer's taste buds do a happy dance. I started with their classic fish tacos, and the crispy fish was pure perfection. It's like they brought the taste of the ocean right to my plate, dude.

But it's not just about the fish. Their carne asada tacos are a carnivore's dream, with tender, marinated beef that's bursting with flavor. And for those looking for a veggie fix, the roasted cauliflower tacos are mind-blowing. Trust me, you won't miss the meat.

And let's not forget about the tequila, eh? Antojos has a stellar selection of tequila that's bound to impress even the most discerning tequila aficionado. I sipped on some top-shelf options, and the smoothness and complexity had me hooked.

Now, their sides are no joke either, man. The street corn is like a Canadian fiesta with its blend of cheese and spices, and the homemade salsas add that extra kick of flavor to your tacos.

But what truly sets Antojos apart is the friendly Canadian hospitality. The staff here are as warm as a toasty bonfire on a cool Halifax evening, always ready to recommend the best tacos and tequila to suit your mood.

So, if you find yourself in Halifax and craving some epic tacos and tequila, Antojos Tacos and Tequila is the spot to hit up. It's the kind of place that'll make you feel like you're part of the East Coast surf and taco tribe. Cheers, my friends, to good times and unforgettable flavors in the...
