Stillwell Beergarden — Restaurant in Halifax

I have been going to Stillwell beer garden since its launch at this location off spring garden. I am a huge fan, and frequent on a biweekly basis. Service and atmosphere is great as always this year, however not the same can be said about the new food menu. While the food is actually good, I feel as though there are some key flaws in the new menu. While the dip that comes with the chips was a needed change, reducing the portion size to about 1/4th the size was unnecessary. I would much rather pay an extra dollar than the portions be drastically downsized. We all know a potato is not that expensive. Secondly, this place was known for its pickles , so when you put a menu item as “house pickles” nobody would expect an assortment of beets, onions, and carrots (everything but an actual pickle). Excellent choice of beers, had the weisenbeer and loved it; tried my cousin's cloudy-looking I-don't-know-what and loved it too! Between the two of us we tried the corn chips with salsa verde (fresh and tasty), chicken skewer with sriracha and some kind of aioli/mayo (the BEST), smoked corn on the cob with lemon aioli and asiago (such a different take on CotC but So Good), and grilled asparagus with lemon aioli and goat cheese (Amazing!) and (clearly) loved them all. Got some ice cream from the Dairy Bar too, black currant soft serve, my fave flavour of anything ever... The kids loved it too, and we LOVED that it was a family friendly space where everyone could get food and ice cream and the adults can have beers even with the kids. Lots of space even when crowded on a hot blonde long weekend Monday....

If you love watching shitlords complain about the way they were treated because of their own behaviour, this the place for you. I'm a 31 year old professional and decided to check the place out for the millionth time. Never, and I mean never in my life have I seen a 43 year old professional act so petulant and immature before. They look for opportunities to humiliate asshats like that at this place. It's that awesome there. I'm certain that these reviews will continue to pour in. The owners of this establishment need congratulate the staff for not putting up with douchenozzles like that guy. The look of unbridled entitlement and stupidity on his face sums up everything that is wrong in the world today.
