Willy’s — Restaurant in Halifax

I asked for twice double (double double) the curds, was charged for it, and the amount of curd were only 'ok'. There's no misunderstanding there, I was extra clear and made the guy at the window repeat to make sure he understood.

Any place in Quebec where you see piled-up curds on top and barely any fries underneath, this wasn't even close to it. I think with taxes it was around 15$ for a small, way too expensive.

The curds don't squeak, they're 'fresh' but definitely bought frozen.

It might be the best poutine in Halifax, the gravy is good, but sadly it still isn't great. I was expecting a lot more from the reviews, but hey what can you do when NS legislation is banning fresh, unfrozen curds from being sold?

They have great fries and apparently the best poutine you can get your hands on in the city. I was impressed but how light my fries were and the cripsy skin on these hand cut beauties is phenomenal. I enjoyed the light saltiness accompanied by the flavour of the oil. I'm not sure what they cool their fries in, but it's definitely light and doesn't coat your mouth in oil. I saw the amount of fresh cheese curds they throw into a poutine and I've bever seen the likes of it before in my life. There had to be at least a full cup of curds in a medium poutine easy! I was hungry and I stumbled to this burger joint occupying the front of a building, not expecting anything glamorous or special, but the moment I bit into the burger, I was mistaken with my preconceived motions of this burger place being typical and opaque; it was one of the best burgers I've ever tasted. I can even say that it beats In-N-Out in SoCal and many other restaurants and burger joints that are even more expensive.
