I have tried twice with this place. The first time when I went with a friend, we were not able to work with the tablets as it was not very user friendly compared to the other All You Can Eat places we had gone to. We asked a server to help us, she briefly explained things and left us unattended after, even though we were clearly struggling. We eventually got up and left because the tablet was confusing and we were starving.
I went again last night with some friends who had been there before so with my friend's help we were able to order food with less hassle. The food tasted mediocre compared to other places. Bibimbap was served with no egg nor sauce... That's a first for me to experience, even though the picture on the tablet clearly showed there would at least be an egg. During the whole meal, our server barely visited our table, and NEVER refilled our water. My friend had to cook and cut up meat for us, while at Gangnam restaurant we would have servers cook for us so we could just eat up and enjoy. The robot delivered most of our food. The food also took a while to arrive. The whole experience was very bleak and frustrating. I tip 15% at least all the time wherever I go usually. However last night was my first time not tipping at all because we received zero service. No one checked on water, food or our experience. The empty plates were cleared away at least...That's all.
Everything ended up to be a bit over $51 for us who did not order drinks. I have spent similar amount of money but received more attentive service at other all you can eat places..... For the places that do menu only, we would also end up spending less but the service would be much better than what we ended up getting from this place. I don't think tipping should even be an option if this is how they are determined to operate because it'd defy everything tipping system is designed for: tips are earned by providing great experience and service, it's not a given.
The atmosphere there is dark, but not fancy dark- it's dingy dark, with restaurant supplies laying around the guest dining area, waiting to be put away, if it'd ever be put away. Not somewhere I'd want to spend much time at even if the food and service ended up to be good: I would rather order takeout in that case.
I think trying two times with different groups was enough to convince me to never visit again. I'd rather spend 50 dollars order menu items from places that provide better service...
Read moreI had an extremely disappointing and frustrating experience at this restaurant. We ordered a regular corn cheese, and at first, they brought out a tiny portion in a foil tray, cold and unappetizing. When we asked for it to be replaced with the proper portion on a hot plate, the amount didn’t really increase. To make matters worse, the corn was still cold. We asked the server to heat it again, and when it came back, it was warm but had no pull or stretch to the cheese. The texture was watery, which made me suspect it was either a pre-made product or overloaded with milk, making the cheese far from authentic.
We also ordered a seafood noodle soup and a tofu soup. The tofu soup tasted like plain water, and the vegetables in the seafood noodles were still hard, likely either frozen for too long or barely cooked. The noodles were bland at first, but as we got to the bottom of the bowl, the seasoning hit all at once, making it overly salty. If the soup isn’t pre-made, the least they could do is mix the seasoning properly before serving.
As for the soy-flavored chicken wings, they were overwhelmingly salty. It felt like drinking straight soy sauce. The flavor was so intense it overwhelmed my taste buds. Ironically, if I dipped the overly salty chicken wings into the bland seafood soup, the flavors balanced out somewhat, and the noodles finally became tolerable. It’s as if they’re forcing customers to figure out their own combinations just to get an edible meal.
Despite the poor food quality, the meal wasn’t cheap. We spent over $30 per person, and the disappointing corn cheese alone cost $15—about the same as a full noodle dish elsewhere. I just can’t understand how this restaurant, which used to serve delicious food at its previous location, could decline so much...
Read moreWe stopped in here on a rainy Saturday afternoon after looking for a different restaurant next door and discovering it was closed down. I am so very thankful for that - because this place was incredible.
The ambiance of the place is exactly how I would imagine a Korean BBQ place in Seoul should be. There is things to discover EVERYWHERE. The wall art is next level though; if you have time and the ability to walk around and look at it all please do. Whoever they brought in as the mural artist is incredibly talented.
When you get to your table you're greeted by a tablet for ordering and a built in table grill. The chairs and benches are oversized and comfy too. The tablet menu comes in 4 different languages so it's very accommodating. There are photos of every single dish on the menu (which is alot!) as well as a descriptions of what they were in detail.
Your food is brought out by a little table robot and it just adds to the experience. We got tteokboki, donkatsu, jjajangmyeon, pork and vegetable dumplings and rice. Split 6 ways that was enough food for us all! The prices and portions are incredibly reasonable for what you get but the flavor really stands out. I've eaten all over the world and this place really holds up. I hope that they succeed and more people start dining in so that places like this continue to grow and thrive. There is ALSO a karaoke room; which we will definitely be partaking in the next time we...
