This Vietnamese restaurant just opened up in late January. There are multiple restaurants of this chain and this is their latest edition to Hamilton. Upon entering, I was greeted with a pretty festive ambiance, still rejoicing from Lunar New Year's. The space inside was larger than what I expected from the storefront as it was a corner unit. We ordered the spring roll plate and the mango shrimp salad which were both really good. The spring roll plate had a lot of food and was enough for two of us, highly recommended getting this because it's fun and interactive and there's a lot of food with it. I would say the service was still ramping up and new because some of the servers looked a bit young and inexperienced, but I'm sure the work flow will come with time; they were super nice though. Pricing was decent though probably mildly more expensive than your usual pho compared to Saigon House down the street. First time coming here in Hamilton but this place is far from good as the location in Mississauga by Yorkdale. As a Vietnamese person I am pretty disappointed in the portion and authentic taste. My friend ordered pho dac biet size large and honestly thought it looked small when it came out. Looks can be deceiving and figured the broth was hiding the food but nope. To be truthful tastes was subpar, not a lot of flavour going on. I waited 15 minutes later for my com tam. By that time my friend finished her food. Food for the table should come out same time. Terrible experience. The com tam tasted blend. Took a few bites and didnt finished it. I voiced this to their cashier when checking out and they did nothing. I expect better service and food. We just had lunch at Pho Anh Vu Hamilton and were very satisfied: Rib Beef Rice Noodle Soup and Grilled Pork Vermicelli Noodles were both delicious. For the price, the bowl of Rib Beef Soup was really big and delicious so it was worth it. The servers were very quick and cheerful. When we got in the car to leave, a staff member came to our car, when we rolled down the window, he gave us my new iPhone that I had forgotten on the dining table. I was surprised and happy, only able to say 'thank you' and then was stunned until my husband backed out to go home, then realized how lucky I was not to have lost my new phone.
