Bean Around Books and Tea — Restaurant in Maple Ridge

I have only visited this store once .... so far that is! I moved here from Langford, Victoria just before COVID invaded the world. I visited a used book store in a neighboring community (PM) don't want to say name of store just in case it was just a bad employee. That experience was so different and disappointing from BAB.

My favorite used book store in Langford, Victoria was (Dragonfly Books). I wasn't sure I would find a used book local to me here that provided the same customer service in such a friendly manner..... then I visited BAB Books today. I have 5 books that were highly recommended by (Tara). She was so helpful and knowledgeable and seemed excited to find books for me to read.

Over all the visit today was a great experience from the time I entered the shop and was greeted right away by the young gal (barista). Then to have someone knowledgeable and eager to help me find some books.

THANK YOU ALL!!!! Well done! I will definitely recommend your store to others. I am sure I will become a "regular". We need more businesses to follow BAB's lead and get back to sincere & friendly customer service such as this store...

Been here quite a few times over the last couple years and it is great! My kids love the hot chocolate here (it is really good, I tried it), the coffees are also great, and the tea selection is exceptional.

It’s a really fun place to come and enjoy a game of chess, or one of the other games they have. Seating layout is great for conversations and games, because there are tables in three areas, so you have a bit of privacy even though it’s not a huge space.

I love coming with my kids or with friends, and sometimes just on my own to relax with a nice hot cup of tea or coffee and browse through the books. They have tons of used books at great prices, as well as a nice selection of new and local.

Staff is friendly and welcoming. It’s such a nice place, whether you want something quick to go, or want to sit...

I visited this coffee shop with my dad and his coffee was great, but unfortunately, my experience wasn’t as positive. I ordered an iced matcha, but the quality was disappointing. The matcha was a pale green (rather than the vibrant shade good matcha should be) and had a fishy taste. I drink matcha often, so I could tell it was low grade. When I asked about getting a different drink, the four staff members working just stared at me, which made me feel very uncomfortable. I ended up ordering something else, but I was charged again. Unfortunately, the replacement drink tasted watered down and lacked flavor. On a positive note, the staff were friendly, but overall the service felt unprofessional, and the drinks didn’t meet...
