my most recent experience at THE WELL (at the casino) This review is more About horrific experience vs food. I hope that’s ok.

1. in April we had a terrible experience and I complained. there are never managers in the restaurant over the dinner hour so someone called me, apologized and said he would like me to come back and offered two entree vouchers to be picked up anytime at customer service
2. Aug 19 we went for dinner (along with my sr parents) and at the entrance i asked, where would I get said vouchers, he called someone on his headset and with the response sent me to the restaurant. The lovely waitress (Cat) said she has no acces to these and sent me to cashier. The cashier heard my story (btw each time I had to explain what happened in April) and Lola the manager came over asked me again my story then brought me to her office (near the entrance as she’s the casino mgr). She took my name and ph# and said she would speak with fmb mgr to get approval to give me voucher. She kept referring to fmb and did I speak to one back in April yada yada…now i am 20 minutes into this and I said look, my family is sitting at a table you do what you need to do and I’m going to be with my family. Feel free to find me there with the outcome. 6:35 pm (20 minutes exactly) she came to my table and said , yes, go ahead order your dinners we will take care of them. i said thank you my meal has already been ordered because we were eating there anyways. I had the chicken sriracha salad, it’s lovely salad with a slight kick of sriracha spice and a chicken breast. It’s nothing fancy but I have allergies and it’s something I can eat. my hubby had steak sandwich, steak was cooked properly and fries were nice and crispy . No sooner were our plates removed and Chris and Lola came to our table and asked me to step outside onto the patio. I complied and they told me they were not taking care of my dinner and Lola denied saying what she said at our table at 6:35. They made me feel like a 5 yo being scolded for bad behaviour. I told them it was ridiculous and returned to my table to pay. I decided to (inside the restaurant) ask why she changed her mind. she said she never said those things and they took me outside so I wouldn’t humiliate myself. Monday Aug 21 I called and spoke to Aaron another casino manager. He told me Chris is the fnb (food and beverage mgr) but the Chris who took me outside was just the bartender and had no reason to speak to me or make any decisions on the matter. I asked Aaron for an apology (as we won’t be going back there) and I waited a week for a response. The food is ok, the waitress we always had except April 15 is amazing, the entertainment on the weekends is a nice touch, but we will never return. Went here tonight for the band which was fine. Kudos for not killing my ears with feedback. When we arrived my friend was jonesing for a drink and we waited, danced, waited, and finally went up to the bar and got our own drinks. I ordered a glass of wine and a glass of water like this: I'd like a 9 oz. house white in a stemless glass please, and a glass of ice water with a straw. The bartender asked me to repeat the second thing I wanted. The wine was $15.53. I reluctantly added a 15% tip because, to quote another reviewer, I'm not a barbarian but we carried our own drinks and his job was to pour the drinks whether we carried them or a server did. Whatever. I think I'm becoming resentful of tipping for service that doesn't meet my expectations. I'm going to resist the urge to detail this to death. Bottom line is, a server only approached our table after we flagged down another server who wasn't ours. The server was friendly and pleasant but not on her game. This isn't the first or second time. I've had great service from Kat and Madeleine, and once from a guy (James?) but unfortunately our server, who shall remain unnamed, seems to have trouble keeping up. In her defence tonight, a table of about ten were all paying their tabs individually but we waited about half an hour longer than we wanted to pay. Music was done, I was tired and had to pee but didn't want to leave the table in case she came. Wish she'd let me pay first and then dealt with the big table. I ordered some spring rolls and yam fries. The spring rolls were good but the yam fries weren't hot and a disappointing portion as I got them to share. Wine is overpriced compared to most other venues in town. I don't really like going to the Well as it's hit or miss but I tolerate it for the music. Actually 0 stars, when my wife and I tried to go for date night, 2 days before the vaccine passport ended we were greeted at the front door of the casino and asked for our vaccine passports which we showed. Then when asked for ID, I showed my paper licence as I just renewed my licence a couple weeks prior, and didn’t have my regular picture. In the two weeks before this I had been too many other places that had no problem with this but at this place it was not acceptable. Now if a police man were to pull me over this would be ok because it is my LICENCE. But at this business it was not. So I showed my Costco card which has my name and picture, but if course that was no good so I tried to show him a picture of my passport, but he wouldn’t look or accept that also. By this time I was extremely aggravated, and he was getting impatient, and basically asked us to go and come back with proper ID. Now I must say, at this point it took everything I had to be cool about it but I can promise you I would never ever go back after the treatment we had on this night. And I would recommend no one else...
