Hako Sushi — Restaurant in Maple Ridge

I'm so afraid to give this place the review it rightly deserves. I don't want it to become so busy that it is a hassle to go. However this place deserves all the praise I can give it!

Starting with the food, great sushi, each specialty roll is big enough to feed 1 person which is so rare in lower mainland sushi joints. The rolls are fresh and well made I highly reccomend the avocado cucumber roll, B.C. roll, red dragon roll, and the salmon Oshi pressed "Osaka" style sushi. Each of these is amazing and well made.

The miso soup deserves its own mini review here. I've been to low and high end sushi joints in many places. The Miso soup here is the best, bar none. Perfectly salty and balanced with real miso flavour not some dry soup package they're trying to pass off as authentic. This miso soup is fantastic and well worth the trip for this one item alone.

Side items like tempura are also large and high quality so just be aware when ordering that you will be very full by the end.

The staff is exceptionally friendly and make their customers feel special. And the atmosphere is cozy with only a few tables for seating.

Got takeout the first night for a try-zies and was surprised at how good the chopped scallop and tamago sushi but what really blew us away was the salmon oshi. The next day we came back and tried the very fresh assorted sashimi which was delicious. The prawn tempura was a nice start, crispy and sprinkled with herbs, and had to try a dine-in salmon oshi which was just as good as the takeout. The day after I took a friend and got the oshi lunch box which was filling and fantastic! And tonight we got the oshi platter, 5 different oshi's, and they were so rich and tasty I almost want to go back tomorrow and get it again.

My husband and I had a fantastic dinner there just today. The interior is great and everything is clean in this restaurant. All the servers are talking kindly with the smiling face. We ordered red caterpillar roll, beef oshi and a salad and they tasted fabulous and super duper fresh. I can say it's just for my taste! Very glad that we found this excellently new fancy and number one 👍 sushi restaurant where is even so close from our home. I feel as I am defenetly going to be a big fan of them and fall in love with this restaurant's foods. We know we will visit there often! See you...
