On our drive to Windsor, my family and I decided to stop in Mississauga for a break, and that’s when I came across Mazaya Shawarma. I was in the mood for a falafel sandwich, so I thought I’d give it a try – and wow, what a great choice!
This place is family-owned and operated, and you can really feel the passion behind the food. The owner himself was incredibly welcoming and friendly, which added a personal touch to the whole experience. He explained that they make their falafel completely from scratch, and you can absolutely taste the difference. It was crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and packed with flavor – easily one of the best falafels I’ve had in a long time.
What impressed me even more was the owner’s generosity. He insisted we try both their chicken and beef shawarma, and I’m so glad we did. Both were seasoned perfectly, tender, and bursting with that authentic Lebanese flavor that makes shawarma so special.
The restaurant itself is very clean, bright, and comfortable – a place you feel good sitting down with your family to enjoy a meal. Prices are also very reasonable, especially considering the quality and freshness of the food. The service was quick, friendly, and made us feel like valued guests rather than just customers passing through.
If you’re in Mississauga and craving authentic Lebanese food, I highly recommend checking out Mazaya Shawarma. Whether you’re in the mood for falafel, shawarma, or just want a welcoming place with great food and service, this spot is worth the visit. I’ll definitely be stopping by again the next time I’m...
Read moreUpdate: went in today for a late lunch with my mom. We wanted to try the kibbeh, but they said they didn’t have any. So we ordered the tabouli, falafel and hummus. First off, we had to ask for bread to be served with the hummus. How does pita bread not come with hummus? What are we supposed to eat it with. The hummus was very liquified, it just tasted like tahini. Not how we expected it to be. The falafel was decent, just felt it was missing certain spices. The tabouli was okay, probably wouldn’t order it again. The shawarma was pretty good, wish I took a photo of it because the portion of fries, pickles and turnips was way less. We also didn’t get that huge portion of garlic sauce on the side. Wish things were a little more consistent.
Probably one of the better shawarma places I’ve been to in Mississauga. Went there for an early dinner during the weekend, the restaurant itself was empty with a couple people coming in for take out. Both beef and chicken shawarma was delicious. Nice helping of pickles and turnips. The garlic sauce on the side is also very good! Large portion. Highly recommend it if you’re...
Read moreHad their version of "Chicken on the rocks". Their house hot sauce is the same Sriracha sauce you buy from the grocery store which is really disappointing as an accompaniment with middle Eastern food. Rice was good, chicken shawarma meat itself was acceptable but the sauces did not enhance the meal and made the whole plate underwhelming.
EDIT: @Shawarma Mazaya Management, Appreciate your response and willingness to make my next visit more satisfying. I literally watched the employee use Sriracha sauce that you'd get from a grocery store on my plate. When asked he confirmed but said Garlic sauce is made in house. I don't doubt that the garlic or other sauces are made in house but the hot sauce specifically is Sriracha in the bottle you get from the store. Perhaps using another plain red squeeze bottle so it's not visible that you're using the sriracha sauce that's found in grocery stores. Nothing wrong with using sriracha, just saying you'd expect a homemade middle Eastern style hot sauce from an establishment as such, not Cantonese style sauce. Again, appreciate your...
