KFC — Restaurant in Mississauga

For those who do not want to read: Like a lot of other reviews, extremely slow service. This is supposed to be FAST food chain. Took 43 mins from the time i entered to the time i exited. My order was not complicated or large just a meal for 2. Look at other reviews and they say exactly the same thing. The one star was for the poor young girl working the counter. She was just fully stressed and could tell everyone was frustrated.

Detailed version: This is the 4th time i have been to this location. I dont review much unless some places exceed my expectation or to warn others to stay away. First thing first is my reviews are based on my expectations. I dont walk into a fast food place expecting exceptional service but i do expect it to be somewhat fast.

All 4 times i have been was around dinner time (anywhere between 5pm to 7:30pm) and always for take out. First 2 times averaged 25 mins in and out, kind of ridiculous for fast food chains. And both times when i got home i was missing a small item (individual fries & individual gravy). I was not going back for 1 small item after taking 30 mins just to get my food.

Third time was the best out of the 4 times (doesn't say much). I ordered via the app that notified me when it was ready. When i arrived i still had to wait 10 mins for the food to be ready after waiting 5 mins just to get service. But at least that was only 15 min wait and no food was missing!!!

4th time is the most ridiculous that drew the line and hence this review. for context of a simple order. I ordered a 3 peice meal. Chicken Sandwich and a gravy.... Not complicated or big order. When i entered there was 3 people in front of me. Took 24 mins just to take my order (yes i know exactly how long cause i messaged my wife when i arrived and also the time on my receipt). After i ordered took another 19 mins for my order to be ready. Totalling 43 mins just to get kfc... My air fryer takes 26 mins to air fry some chicken that is tastier, healthier and crispier than this. There was 3 staff working, one person was responsible for packaging and taking orders. 5 mins into waiting for my food the order line up was so long that 2 people was waiting between the double doors and many people walked up to the doors and just walked away. At one point she had to goto the back to help make the orders and stopped taking orders for roughly 10 mins. U can see peoples displeasure faces and everyone was leaning against the wall. The young lady behind the counter looked so stress cause she could tell everyone was angry, but everyone felt so bad for her so no one really said anything. 1 star for the poor girl, this is purely management and owners fault for being absolutely cheap and not staffing up to save some money. In my opinion they can go from 3 staff to 5 staff and the speed of the service would only be mediocre. That is how understaffed they are, the staff was not slow or inefficient but u have 1 person trying to serve at least 30+ people (includes takeout and uber) in the 43 mins i was there with many walking away after seeing the lineups. Owners should absolutely be ashamed of themselves for this mockery of service. And dont try and blame it on the staff or say people are sick and understaffed. This was the 4th time and people from various days saying the same issue.

For the food. Fries were cold and gravy was so cold that i had to reheat it when i got home so i got soggy cold fries after taking 43 mins. Never again at this location, not even if they offered free...

KFC Canada corporate office has not returned my call or emails, as the receptionist claimed they would. 👎

October 2024 I received 6 emails offering a complimentary bucket of KFC's new Tenders. I ordered through the APP and exceeded the amount required for the free bucket. The app wouldn't load the offer, both Manager and Asst Manager couldn't or would not provide the offer - even though the store currently had TWO window sized posters showing the Free Bucket offer. Twenty minutes of two people fumbling with my phone App , neither had the wherewithal to simply pack the tenders in my bag and fix the issue later.... nope. They said I should call tomorrow... I said who ? The manager says "KFC... call them tomorrow" I reply, but I'm physically standing inside a KFC right now. Can a manager not assit me now ? Clerk: "no. But call tomorrow" . -Food quality - subpar and small portions -Fries Cold. -Chicken, small and cold. -Popcorn chicken, greasy & nasty. -service - not empowered. Poor

Attempted SIX (6) times to contact KFC. That's four (4) more times than I've attempted to rectify an issue with any fast food business.

Why am I so let down by this international brand, KFC ? It's the goodwill earned over the decades. I grew up in the Maritimes of Canada. Kentucky Fried Chicken was a staple item for our family gatherings. KFC was included at Picnics and always came along for my siblings long weekend soccer tournaments. Even with Mary Brown's readily available in Halifax, our family always returned to KFC 🍗

Alas KFC has become a no-go

Between the bad food, shocking poor service my last two visits and management failing to even acknowledge my inquiry... it's evident KFC is in a tailspin downward.

Very disappointed in the staff and service here. There were 4 other customers in the restaurant and somehow it took 28 minutes for 3 employees to put together a pickle box combo. After I ordered and paid I was told there were no pickle chips (part of the reason I was even there) and that I could have either coleslaw or macaroni in its place. I asked if I could have onion rings instead but was told I'd have to pay extra. After making a bit of a fuss, I was finally told I could have extra fries instead. Not much of a win, but the cold fries were still better than that radioactive coleslaw or the slimy macaroni. I'll be honest, the pickle big crunch sandwich was actually pretty good and who doesn't like some popcorn chicken. I was also pleasantly surprised by the pickle pepsi despite the poor presentation. (They give you a little cup of pickle juice & 2 pickle slices to dump in your pepsi.. Lol!) Something that should not have tasted good but somehow it did. I feel like this whole meal would have been better executed by literally any other KFC in the city. The half unwrapped sandwich and fries haphazardly thrown in the box didn't exactly scream "We care about your food" but maybe I should just lower my expectations for a place like this. Don't go here if you're hungry and want to eat within 25 minutes...
