Last October, I decided to treat myself to a Shawarma Day at Osmow's on Latimer Drive in Mississauga, and oh, what a delightful experience it was! The autumn breeze carried the enticing aroma of freshly grilled shawarma right to my nostrils as I approached the cozy, welcoming venue. I chose to visit the location at 5945 Latimer Drive, a spot known for its authentic Mediterranean flavors. As I entered, the warm, friendly staff greeted me with smiles, and the vibrant decor immediately transported me to a quaint little eatery in the heart of the Mediterranean. I ordered the chicken shawarma wrap with a side of their signature garlic sauce and crispy fries. As I waited, the bustling ambiance filled with the chatter of satisfied customers created a comforting backdrop. When my order arrived, the sight of the well-stuffed shawarma with a perfect blend of tender chicken, fresh veggies, and a generous drizzle of tahini made my mouth water. The first bite was nothing short of heavenly - the chicken was succulent and perfectly seasoned, the veggies were crisp, and the garlic sauce added a zesty kick that danced on my palate. Each bite was a melody of flavors that played in harmony, satisfying my shawarma cravings to the core. The portion was generous, leaving me satisfyingly full yet longing for the next Shawarma Day. The price was reasonable, and the experience was enriched by the courteous staff who ensured my meal was nothing short of perfect. As I left Osmow's with a contented belly and a heart full of Mediterranean warmth, I knew I'd be counting the days until my next Shawarma Day adventure here.Osmow's Shawarma on Latimer Drive indeed offers a little slice of the Mediterranean right in the heart of Mississauga, making every Shawarma Day a day to...
Read moreNot a coincidence that both I and my friend experienced severe diarrhea the morning after enjoying a chicken shawarma wrap. Noticed the wrap was mixed with both fresh (warm) and old (colder) chicken as the colder tasting chicken was slightly off-tasting in the wrap. Was praying I wouldn't get sick; at least I did not vomit, but we both had several toilet visits through the course of the day.
The male worker mixed up the mild wrap with the spicy wrap. As I recall, two females and one male was working on this day (Sunday, Sept 27, 2020, around 6pm). They were clearly flustered and disorganized. Of the two hand sanitizers in front of the registers, one was empty and the 2nd was barely spitting any sanitizer.
It is clear they are utilizing cost-cutting measures by mixing old chicken, possibly from the previous day, with the new chicken - you can tell simply based on taste. Also the older chicken was finely shredded, while the fresh chicken was in larger pieces signifying they just cut it off the rack.
And with these young indian kids working there, it is also clear it is an indian owner looking to put a few extra dollars in his/her pocket rather than focus on quality and freshness. I experienced the same at Lazeez, who is also an Indian owner - and those who have visited the Mavis/Eglinton location know how bad the service and quality of food is there. At least Paramount still has an Arab owner, and the food quality has not deteriorated (yet).
Thought I would have a better experience at this Osmow's location as I have had previous positive experiences at the Square One and Lakeshore locations.
I recommend avoiding this particular Osmow's at all costs - the other locations may...
Read moreSimilar other reviews says, this store has room for a lot of improvements in quality of food. A very big, nice location and great staging, BUT food is not even authentic Osmow's. I am regular Osmow's customer for years, and visiti to this store was unfortunate. Portion size is not enough (ordered a large poutine and essentially it was regular on large size box. The crispiness, and amount of cheese, meet and suase are all very limited too. I understand business are struggling, but compromising in quality, portion size and taste is unfortunate for a food business.
Need a lot of improvement, employee trainings. I will definitely opt NOT TO visit this store whenever I have choice.
/Student offer/ We had issues with student offer too, one of us is a student at Lambton college and she asked for student offer with student id. The store declined it saying the offer is only for students under 18. I felt surprised, as I am sure this a violation of Osmows's policy. I asked to talk to a manager, I am told "this is how it is this store, if you want, we give management phone, you can call and ask her". I escalated it to Osmows's officials and confirmed, age does not matter as long as we have valid student id. Attaching communication from Osmows's head office.
/*Response To Store reply/ I seriosly doubt your efforts to address costomer revies keep the right direction, I have seen similar reviews 4 years back, 2 years back and months back. Please consider employee training (If something is not on track for years, its more towards the management/owner than employees). Those who has to train employees need...
