Picked up their most sold item - a Mango slushie. You see staff are almost every time peeling and dicing mangoes. Assumed that all it would contain is mangoes and some ice and perhaps apple juice or bananas for added sweetness.
First the mangoes as they are not in season are what I call them Salad Mangoes, and are not as sweet. They were ripe, but they inherently not sweet. I remember passing them during warmer months and seeing Atulfo mangoes and assumed they use the same in winter months as well. They don’t.
Then they add mango small pieces and for .50 cents would add blackened tapioca balls - we did and were not pleased with the decision. They just don’t go well. Then after ordering the sting and carefully seeing how they make it, see that they add several pumps of syrup which had a label of Lychees but it is basically sugar syrup - wish I had known, would have said not to add, shaved of some unhealthy calories. Would have paid no more than a buck to add a fresh/frozen banana.
The taste was OK. The Mango pieces saved the day and the tapioca...
Read moreAt first, my experience was fine. I ordered on their kiosk, and their service was a bit slow but I wasn't in a rush so it didn't really bother me. But then when I got my drink and grabbed a straw to puncture the plastic film lid, I noticed they switched their straws to those horrible paper/cardboard ones. These straws do not have enough of a point on the end of them in order to puncture the top plastic seal they put on their cups. This resulted in me having to use more force to try to puncture the lid, resulting in my drink exploding all over me and all over the floor! When I brought this up to the person working there, all he said was "sorry about that" and handed me a single piece of paper towel to clean up the huge mess! He didn't even offer to refund me or offer to make me another drink since a quarter of my drink was lost in this explosion. I don't understand why you would switch to paper straws, yet still use plastic cups and lids?? Doesn't that defeat the whole purpose?! Especially considering the straw needs to be able to...
Read moreWe always go to this location every time we go to Erin mills mall. I always order the taro sherbet with tapioca. Today I ordered it again and it was bland, watery and the tapioca now i think is home made brown sugar tapioca. The tapioca had different consistencies; some are mushy, some are hard and only a few are the right chewy texture. It doesn’t have any taste as well. It’s pretty disappointing considering I’ve been going to this location for years. Maybe it’s the specific worker that was there today. But each employee should be trained the same way so all drinks are made to taste exactly the same as they’re supposed to be, I couldn’t even finish my drink....
