Montreal, as one of the most metropolitan cities in Canada, has a vibrant Italian community and as a result, a multitude of Italian restaurants. It seems that a corner pizzeria can be found in almost every neighbourhood in the city. Bellucci’s is by far a cut above most if not all the rest. My wife and I and another couple dined at Bellucci’s at Complex Desjardins in Montreal on Wednesday of this week. We started by sharing a Fritto Misto, which is a unique combination of fried squid and shrimp served with a roasted pepper aioli and arrabbiata sauce. It was simple but unique and delicious. The serving was also very, very generous. As as entrée, I chose the Scallopine Al Limone, and my wife had the Insalata Bellucci with additional shrimp. The Scallopine Al Limone had a delicate lemony flavour without a watery consistency, which is normally the case. My wife’s salad and shrimp, like my entrée, was truly delicious. We normally don’t order dessert in a restaurant because most times, these dishes are prepared externally and shipped in by the restaurant. Given the dining experience so far, we were actually looking forward to trying something off their dessert menu. My wife and I both ordered the tiramisu whereas our friends ordered the cannoli and another chocolate dish. The tiramisu was stupendous, a real treat for both the eyes and tastebuds. I’ve been lucky enough to visit several European cities on business over the years and eaten in some spectacular restaurants, even ones with Michelin stars. My wife and I toured Tuscany in 2023 and visited some wonderful restaurants in Florence, Siena, and other famous locations. Even given that history, I would rate Bellucci’s as one of the best Italian restaurants I have ever tried. Truly amazing! Bellucci’s is a rare gem and as a native Montrealer, I’m proud it’s located in my hometown. I can’t...

Staff seems too comfortable and not serious. When we ordered, there was barely any acknowledgement from the waiter. Could've been ordering from an iPad and would've had the same customer service.
For an Italian restaurant, the pastas were extremely disappointing. Extremely too salty. To the point that our friend who is notorious for always adding salt to food even said it was too salty for them. We didn't even get through half our plate. The carbonara is nauseating, way too heavy. Realizing that we didn't get any of the complementary bread on the table and also wanting to try another dish to maybe give the restaurant a second chance, we try to get our waiter's attention. That was difficult because the staff was having a fun moment behind the bar. Other staff noticed us and didn't even try to direct our waiters attention to us. Very unprofessional.
Finally we order a pizza to see if the rest of the menu is edible. They have a fire oven which is always a plus for me. The margarita comes to our tables and is quite frankly a bit disappointing. Taste is ok, undercarriage is barely crisp and size is smaller then I thought.
I will not be returning and would not recommend this place for a few reasons. 1. Food is disappointing especially for the price point. 2. Staff is unprofessional and doesn't care. 3. Felt like we were bothering the staff from start to finish. 4. Feels like a tourist trap. 5. Seems that tables ordering alcoholic beverages get more service. Of course when you're tipsy all food tastes good.
