i don’t leave many 1 star reviews but i am still thinking about this place weeks after the experience. food was good for the most part of our groups order but my pizza was not to my taste unfortunately (not the fault of the cooks as i did order it).
our server did not quality check our food but did so to the tables around us. he refilled waters and took orders of those around us consistently while pretty much ignoring us. i had to ask for more water and it took about 15 min. my dinner mates then offered me their waters as it was so hot out and i was so nauseous from the heat. we asked for olive oil or honey if they had it, both of which were ignored. he did not even say he could not bring it; he just didn’t. it took over 25min for my takeout box- which at that point there had been flies buzzing all around it. i had to voice my unhappiness loudly so that we would even get serviced. our quick “dinner” was almost 2-3 hours and by the end of it i wanted to leave so badly. there were no other black poc’s so i am left wondering if it was our age (we are in our 20s) or something else that left us singled out. i am white and francophone but parts of my family are not. i do not understand the reason for the poor service, to this day, i am left wondering why those around us received better and more attentive service.
psa: you will have a hard time recorking your wine here- we got a nice 70$ bottle and it was almost impossible even though it has been allowed in Quebec to do so since 2013. i’m not sure why the cork was not left with us when the bottle was opened.
the server was talking to another female server and pointing at us on the side and so i smiled at them - he ignored me then sent her to check us out in hopes that we would tip her better (in service industry you do this once you have established a poor or irreconcilable relationship with the guest). i’m not sure if he though we would tip poorly but we tipped 15% regardless of the terrible service. note: the nice female server brought us a cork eventually after we paid.
i’ve worked in the service industry until recently so i tried to be mindful with service workers as it is a difficult job and our server was busy. the service to those around us while ignoring us is deliberate and interesting although- i wonder if this restaurant has deeper issues based off of the other poor experiences.
it’s unfortunate to say that this restaurant has been the worst dining experience i have had to date and still leaves a mark 2...

During the vibrant and bustling atmosphere of the Montreal Jazz Festival, we found ourselves drawn to Pizzeria NO.900. Although securing a spot on their charming patio proved impossible due to the festival crowd, we opted for a convenient takeout to enjoy our meal in the comfort of our own space. Our choices for the evening were the Salami Pizza and the Cinq Fromages.
Salami Pizza The Salami Pizza at Pizzeria NO.900 is a delightful mix of savory and spicy. The crust, perfectly thin and crispy, provided a wonderful base for the generous toppings. The salami itself was rich and flavorful, with just the right amount of spice to elevate each bite without overpowering the other ingredients. The combination of the tangy tomato sauce and the melted mozzarella cheese created a harmonious blend that left us thoroughly satisfied.
Cinq Fromages The Cinq Fromages, a cheese lover’s dream, did not disappoint. Each bite was an indulgence in creamy, cheesy goodness. The blend of five different cheeses melted beautifully together, creating a rich and decadent flavor profile. The crust, once again, was impeccable – thin, crispy, and the perfect vessel for the gooey cheese. This pizza was a testament to Pizzeria NO.900's expertise in balancing flavors and textures.
Final Thoughts Our experience with Pizzeria NO.900 during the Montreal Jazz Festival was a testament to their consistent quality and delicious offerings. Even though we couldn't dine on their patio, the takeout experience was seamless, and the pizzas were a true highlight of our evening. The Salami Pizza and Cinq Fromages are both stellar choices that showcase the pizzeria's commitment to excellence. Whether you're a fan of meaty, spicy flavors or crave a cheesy delight, Pizzeria NO.900 has something to satisfy...
Read moreI was in the area trying to decide which place to go for lunch and saw this and other pizza/Italian places and had to make a decision, so I chose here. I’m glad I did!
When I went in, I saw their certification on the wall for making Neapolitan pizza I knew I picked the right place! I also liked their menu! The setting is beautiful, almost like a Paris bistro, but it’s a pizza joint. Service was excellent too, very helpful and friendly.
I started with their starter salad and it was excellent! The tomatoes were incredible, but that cheese was awesome! The arugula was also very fresh and tasty. Next was the pizza – I opted for their Diavola Ventricina, because I like spicy. This pizza had lots of flavors that came together to make one cohesive taste. The dough was INCREDIBLE!!! The toppings were fresh and great. But since it didn’t have a tomato sauce on it, I asked for a side of their sauce to try. I was very impressed when I saw it was basic sauce, meaning it appears they just popped open a can of San Marzano tomatoes and added light seasonings and blended – Simple and great!
Overall – Excellent –...
