In my travels I have been to many places. I discovered this place through a Google search of places with decent beer. I took a quick look at the menu and decided to try. WOW! First the beer is absolutely excellent. For people that are true beer lovers (not hoppy beverages), you must have the hefeweizen, the stout and red ale. These are pieces of art, in a form of a tasty beer. The place is very busy, so you probably need a reservation. I was on my own and the staff found a spot for me on the bar. I got lucky. When it comes to food, I ordered the following: Salmon Tartare - it was exquisite! exactly the right flavor, with a velvety comforting taste. Chicken Wings - they are deep fried in a tempura style coating. They are juicy, flavorful and soft. Chicken Karage - It's a very big dish. The server got me all the sauces, because I couldn't decide which one I wanted - I love it! the chicken was soft on the inside and crunchy on the outside, just as it should be. Napoleon - the server (Raphael) told me, honestly, that it is the least ordered dish. After trying to understand what it was, as I don't speak French, I still ordered it. I was correct in ordering this incredible dessert. Not only that the crispy layers played wonderfully with the cream in between, but the fruit and the addition of fresh basil for a twist made this one of the best desserts I've had in Canada.

the savory dishes all lack salt. But, trust me, it is better to add salt than to get an overly salty dish. ;)

Although, it was my first time here, they appear to be busy all the time. It comes as no surprise, as they have great beer and amazing food. The service there is absolutely phenomenal, considering the busyness level. Their team in the back and front is absolutely great. If you are in Montreal, you must visit them. I have not checked out the other locations, but this one comes highly recommended.

I even got a pint on the house! I have no clue why I earned this, but it just...

The ambiance was nice, the calamari were good but that’s about it. The waiter sucked and so did the rest of the food.

The service was lacking and so was the food. We ordered calamari which were crispy and seasoned. (No picture) We also ordered some wings, they were super fatty, the breading was thick and arrived warm not hot. (Didn’t take a picture)

We also ordered a burger with a PopChoux poutine, both of those arrived barely warm and extremely dry. We like to order different things and split it. We took a bit each out of the burger and it was so dry we left it there. The poutine was also extremely dry there was no sauce and the toppings were cold while the fries were warm. If the waiter would have came back to ask how the food was we would have told him, instead they were having their own little party behind the bar not really acknowledging customers, we watched people walk out (we should have done the same). He only came back about an hour later to take it all away, when we tried to tell him he was so indifferent it was shocking.

We also took some drinks, miel-ito was super sweet but drinkable, while the white sangria was pure citrus super sour.

They also didn’t care about keeping the door closed, we dined with our coats on (so did others). I kept getting up to close the door as well as other customers did the same.

Will not be going back, what a shame since the ambiance was nice. I don’t really like writing long bad reviews but this experience really sucked waiter got basic 15% I would have given less because he didn’t deserve that...

Sat for about 3 hrs because the waitress ignored our table, but we loved the food, the hosts who sat us, and the ambiance.

Our waitress was quick to come to our table and was very friendly at first. We got our first round of drinks quickly (and one of us even got a free beer sampler which was very nice). The drinks were all good.

We were then ready to order appetizers, but it took a while for her to come back to our table and take that order. By the time we got our appetizers, we had been sitting for a little over an hour.

We waited another 45 minutes for the waitress to take our order for entrees but had to eventually flag her down to give our table any attention.

We placed entree orders for 3-4 items and waited another 20 min. We asked the waitress for an update on the food and she said it would take 30 minutes. We then asked for the check so we could pay and be ready to leave when we were done eating. We asked again for an update 10-15 minutes later and she asked what we want for food (as if she never took our order the first time).

We asked for the food to go since we had been sitting there for 2.5 hours or so without our entrees. She said it only takes 5 minutes to make the food to go, so that will be quick. She came back with 2 items (despite us paying for other items as well). We were so frustrated at this point that we didn’t even want to fight it and would rather pay extra money to be able to leave and not have to wait any longer.

The waitress offered us shots for the food taking so long, then never came...

My dog and I were roaming the streets of Montreal and walked all the way here as I read it was a dog friendly place. Before getting a seat I obviously double checked if they allowed dogs. When he went to check, a manager of sorts came out greeted me and my dog and said of course we are welcome and petted my dog. They found a nice table for us upstairs. They had so many vegan options and I was beyond grateful for that. They also offered a blueberry beer to taste and I was blown away by it! Never had anything like that before. I ordered their beet salad which again - nothing like I had before. I would call it a naughty salad as it also had deep fried cauliflower in it! Out of the box, right? ;) bring it on! We need more such naughty salads that is just not all too healthy! We need something to keep us going. The place was so full of happy people, happy vibes, amazing service! I couldn’t stop raving about this place and their beers to my husband so we went there again along with his friend and our dog. We got a patio seating this time. Unfortunately they didn’t have their blueberry beer this time. I had their egg plant dish which was so good and we split their fries with the garlic dip! Gosh, that was so delicious that I am drooling as I type this 😄 It’s a joy to dine at spots where the staff are so friendly and generate good vibes! It makes a world of difference. Also, 5 stars for being dog-friendly and having plant-based options! Thank you! 😊

We had a reservation for a table of five at 8 PM and were seated right away, which was a good start. Unfortunately, the overall experience was disappointing. We placed our drink and food orders at the same time. Drinks came in about 10 minutes, but after waiting 30 minutes, I was told that the 12-hour smoked brisket I ordered wasn’t available. I then tried to switch to the salmon tartare bowl — that wasn’t available either. I finally settled on the Pad Kra Pao Bowl, which turned out to be bland, with the chicken being the only part that had any flavor. My first drink choice, the passion margarita, also wasn’t available, so I went with a classic mojito instead. For a place with a solid menu on paper, it was frustrating how underprepared the kitchen seemed to be that evening. What made the experience more disappointing was that no manager came by to apologize or offer any sort of explanation. Given the kitchen issues and unavailable menu items, it would’ve been appropriate to acknowledge the inconvenience or even suggest we go elsewhere if they couldn’t fulfill the core items we’d ordered. It felt like poor communication and oversight. The only positive note was that the service picked up when it was time to pay. However, it also wasn’t mentioned that the tip was already included, which would’ve been helpful to know upfront. Overall, the restaurant needs to be better prepared and more transparent with guests when things aren’t going smoothly.
