I went to Cafe Nocturne this morning with my father. As soon as we entered, we found a place to sit in front of the cashier, so my dad sat down. We order 1 Americano, 1 hot chocolate, 1 croissant, and 2 chocolate scones.
While waiting for my drinks, I saw that the batista girl was making a beautiful latte from the previous customer's drink. So I expect something similar. But once I received mine, first of all, she ignored me when I thanked her as I grabbed my drinks. Second of all, my hot chocolate was light as cappuccino, filled with full foams, NO latte art (as you can see in the picture). I was wondering what was going on. As I sat on the table with my father, we were the only ones who got served on a paper cup and pastries on a paper bag. EVERYONE AROUND ME got served their drinks WITH LATTE ART on a MUG and a PLATE. Latte art doesn't mean anything. All I wanted were a balanced milk with beautiful foam. It's not that she CAN'T make it, SHE DID NOT MAKE IT makes this situation worse.
I don't know where it went wrong, but the owner has to do something with your worker.
I realized that we got discriminated by our appreance. My dad doesn't feel comfortable walking, and we are Asian.
I know that this coffee shop was filled with young people. But come on. Have a minimum sense of humanity. You live in Montreal. Filled with young and old people with or without disability and you are ONE of the race. One day, we all get old and might get physical discomfort.
If the batista had a bad day and wanted to ruin someone else's beautiful day, well, I don't think this is the right place for them to work.
I would strongly recommend this coffee shop for those who agree with any kind of...
Read moreNot sure of her name but the girl with the glasses and curly longer hair is always unnecessarily rude (not to be confused with a quieter girl without glass and curly hair, she's very sweet this review is nothing against her). I live nearby so I come in often and did like it a lot (the other baristas are all friendly and the coffee is good) but my interactions with said barista are always unpleasant and awkward to a point where I think management should be aware. I have even come in with friends and they brought up the same issue.
For clarity on the exact issue, she is never smiling or welcoming, she is cold and aloof - usually barely even greets you. She has an attitude and even talks back when you ask a question. I have been a barista myself and am understanding, sometimes you are having a bad day or you are drained BUT this has been MANY times now, in fact everytime she is working this occurs. Now I honestly don't go in if I see she's working unless I want to just quickly grad something and have the energy to just ignore...
Read moreThe atmosphere coming in was really nice, however the Tunisian barista girl on duty gave horrible service. I had paid for both my and my friends order in cash and gave her 20$ for something that was 19.45, and was reaching for some smaller change for a tip. Instead of handing my change over to me, the girl immediately and without asking, dropped the change into the tip jar. I’m also a tipped employee and we get horrriiiiible reputations because of people like her, thinking tip is obligatory. Tip is not obligatory, it is optional, I say this as someone who has worked in the industry for long enough. She didn’t look me in the eye when doing this and then gave me and my friend attitude when we received our drinks at the counter. Best part of this experience? I still tipped her in cash after she took upon herself to tip herself with my own change because I always tip. Horrible customer service and bitter mindset. Needs...
