The food here was actually great — flavorful and well-prepared. Unfortunately, the service completely ruined the experience. When we arrived, we asked for a table for six. There was a good table available near the entrance, but the staff insisted on placing us in the back even though the table wasn’t reserved. Only after insisting did they finally set us up at the spot we preferred. From there, things went downhill. Our server was extremely nonchalant and borderline rude. She took our orders as if she didn’t want to serve us, and when she dropped off the appetizers, it was done with no care — almost like she was throwing the plates. She didn’t pause to ask if we needed anything, yet I noticed her treating other tables differently, with much more attention. After that, she never returned to take our main orders, so we had to ask another waiter for help. Thankfully, he was polite, patient, and professional — a rare bright spot in the whole evening. Sadly, when another server came to bring the food, the same dismissive attitude returned. I don’t know why two of the waitresses acted that way toward us, but it was not normal behavior. We were a group of Black guests, and while I won’t outright call it profiling, the contrast in how we were treated compared to other tables was too obvious to ignore. Bottom line: Great food, terrible service. I was so outraged that I wrote this review before even leaving the restaurant. If management doesn’t address this, they’ll continue to lose customers who would otherwise be loyal.

We were in Chinatown and craving some Chinese food on a Tuesday afternoon. So we decided to check this place out. This place is good for big and small groups. But I can say that it's better for big groups because the portions are really big and it's perfect to share.(they have a rolling table in the middle) We were greeted nicely when we got there, our waiter was super nice and funny, always filling our water and asking if we needed something. The menu is very big they pretty much have everything that you want, and they are open till 3am. When we got there they served us jasmine tea on the house which was really nice, and we ordered the peanut butter dumplings, the general Tao chicken, the soft noodles and the baby Bok choy with king mushroom. I can say that all of these were really good and alot for 2 ppl so we had to take the remaining to go. I highly recommend this place, I would definitely go back to try something else aswell because the menu is very big The service was really fast, we got there just in time because alot of ppl started showing up after. We didn't get any drinks here so I cannot comment on that but they do have a bar which a few different liquors.

Probably the best meal in Montreal Enjoyed the awesome dinner. Place was easy to access, decoration was great.  Menu looked interesting. We ordered King Crab which served in 3 different style, sweet and sour pork together with some vegi.  The crab was fresh and so good to have its legs being steamed, while its body was deep fried with salty egg yolk made it especially tasty. Finally its shell with fried rice fulled our stomach.  The food was really delicious, a traditional sweet and sour pork and simple stir fryed vegi proved the chef is top class.  We enjoyed every bit of it and so did come back for 2nd time to try other dishes before the end of other vacation. Highly recommended if you want fantastic Chinese food in Montreal.

I have been going to Dynastie for over 5 years. This is NOT the same dynastie that I remember.

They must've changed ownership since our last visit in December.

the tea was ice cold in a dirty tea pot.

the woman who was serving us was rude and did not seem to know her own menu items when writing down the order.

We never got our appetizer (won ton noodle soup), which is supposed to arrive first.

We ordered spicey pad thai, when it arrived, it was not spicy at all, and the chicken was rubbery.

The fried noodles were cold, and burnt around the edges. The sauce was watery and bland.

The lemon chicken, was completely soggy with oil, and inedible. The lemon chicken sauce was bland and watered down.

In general, all the food portions were half the size that we remember them being.

Immediately when we finished eating, the waitress rushed over to the table with the bill, without really waiting for us to ask for it.

For payment the waitress tried to grab my credit card from my hand to pay and add her own tip without confirming the bill amount!

We gave a 12.5% tip, even though in my opinion she did not deserve any whatsoever.

The waitress started arguing with me that I wasn't giving enough of a tip.Tip is a meritocracy, not a hostage negotiation.

She starts arguing with us demanding more, we said she's lucky that she got any tip at all given bad service and bad food. The waitress dismisses our complaints and begins to patronize us.

We normally tip well and don't have any issues, but when our waiter consistently serves us cold tea, can't take the order down correctly, doesn't check up on us to see if the meal is good, and tries to rush us out to pay, and then patronizes the customer when theyre not happy with the meal/service. Its obvious that they don't merit extra money.

Terrible food, terrible service,...

I rarely leave negative reviews but I have ZERO TOLERANCE with businesses that are DISHONEST and CHEATS its customers. The first sign of something not going right was when the bill was handwritten instead of printed from a computer, which is suspicious for a large size and nice looking restaurant like this. This was when I noticed that the surcharges (i.e. taxes) were not broken down or explained, instead they just wrote it down by hand in one number. That would’ve been fine if it wasn’t for the fact that the surcharges was $12.95 for a subtotal of $50. Total tax rate for Quebec is 9.975%+5% GST, so if you do the math this restaurant is charging a tax rate of over 25%! Do we see a problem here?! I even asked the waitress, a middle age tall and skinny lady, how the charges were calculated, and if they were adding a mandatory service charge/tip on top of the taxes, which is very rare. Her answer was very vague and evasive, which led me to think that it wasn’t a mistake, but intentional. She then left and came back with a new bill. After I paid the bill, she asked for a tip. Although I wasn’t happy with what just happened, I decided to give them a 10% tip anyways. At this point another waiter, a tall skinny man with grey hair probably in his 60’s, begins to complain loudly about how low my tip was. I thought it was outrageous how a staff that tries to cheat its customers still thinks they’re entitled to any tip at all, and thinks they can berate their customers publicly, but at that point I just wanted to leave as soon as possible. I’m leaving this review as a warning to their customers. It’s also unfortunate that their behavior will now reflect badly on other businesses in this area who may not condone...

The worst experience in restaurant services!!!!! Very bad customer service and unfriendly waiters!!!The service is sooooooo bad and disappointing! They didn’t welcome us at first and takes a lot to some one come and show us the table, then it takes 20 minutes to take the order, several time we ask but they didn’t come and then we have to go and find someone to take the order, and I have to mention the restaurant wasn’t so busy but it seems there aren’t enough staff to serve, even it seems they don’t speak English or French. After ordering food for 3 people, and waiting a lot , finally they brought only one food, put it on the table and didn’t mention the name of food or it’s for whom, then after 10 minutes another food and after 10 minutes they brought my appetizer and my main course together. Almost my friends finished their food, and every time we asked for the food they didn’t talk but with body language they said it’s coming. And after the last food arrived we realized that the name of the last food is not the one I ordered, it’s my friend’s order, but because THEY Didn’t TALK we didn’t know the name of food. Then they didn’t come to charge the glasses of water, an we were so thirsty and after 20 minutes finally they brought some water. Then we asked for the bill, we realized that the amounts on the menu was less, and they charged the bills $2 more on each food, and because of the horrible service we didn’t pay the tip, because they didn’t even provide the minimum service that each restaurant provides, and they finally they start to speak why we don’t pay tip , and we realized that they can speak...
