Embarking on an unexpected culinary journey, we stumbled upon KimGalbi, nestled on St. Mathieu Street. Its discreet location might challenge the unobservant passerby, yet its ambiance immediately envelops you in warmth. Although compact, the restaurant's cozy atmosphere and tasteful decor create a welcoming environment. A minor inconvenience arose from the cramped seating arrangement, leading to occasional chair collisions with neighboring diners.
While the service demonstrated a friendly demeanor, it hovered around the average mark, notably lacking in attentiveness post-meal delivery. However, any qualms about service or spatial arrangements dissipated with the arrival of our meal. The kitchen's efficiency ensured our dishes arrived promptly, steaming and ready to impress. KimGalbi's offerings are not only generous in portion but also in flavor and quality, providing undeniable value. Each dish we savored left us thoroughly impressed, without a single critique to note.
Despite the initial happenstance of our visit, KimGalbi has secured its place on our list of culinary favorites. The food's remarkable quality transcends the minor inconveniences experienced, promising a return visit. For those yet to indulge in KimGalbi's delights, consider this a hearty...

Hi and welcome to another episode of javing it with Javier. Let's see what we are having today. Today I'm trying out their chicken teriyaki combo so let's dive right into the review.
The dish is nicely separated into four sections. Let's start off with the rice. I normally wouldn't imagine myself enjoying plain white rice, but in this case, the bottom of the rice was lightly pan fried while the top part was still tender and delicious. The chicken was tender and had good flavor but I would've preferred a stronger teriyaki flavor. The pancake was very tasty with a crispy outside and a fluffy inside. Finally, the japchae was the perfect amount of chewy.
The food was very filling and everything was well-priced. Boy, was I stuffed.
A huge plus was the Kpop jams in the background - it was as if they were playing my Kpop Spotify playlist. The staff were really helpful and came by frequently to check on our food and fill our water as well.
In conclusion, I would highly recommend getting the combo. However, be aware that your friends may get jealous (my girlfriend definitely was). And that's it for today's episode of javing it with Javier. And remember,...

The place looks nice and the servers were polite. That’s about the only good thing I could say. The “side dishes” were gourmet-sized, hands down the smallest snack bites I’ve ever seen. Refills are paid. My friend and I both got the Dolsot bibimbap. The portions came with a spring salad mix on top (?!), quite literally a spoonful of beef, a couple of zucchini slices, some other veggies, and the remaining 80% was super greasy rice. The dish was bland, we ordered salt&pepper on the side, but even that + plenty of hot sauce didn’t help with the taste. The whole thing was so oily that we both actually felt sick after. Ridiculously overpriced for what it was. $21/person after tax for a meal that would cost $2-3 to make.
Definitely won’t return & wouldn’t recommend to people looking for good Korean food. Jako is just down the street, it’s a great place, reasonably priced and the food...
