So there are places that you know are not going to be amazing but you go anyway. La Taverne de Noel manages to underdeliver above all expectations. We saw the reviews weren't amazing but decided to do it for the atmosphere. After waiting in line for 45 mins (at 2pm on a Sunday) we noticed that the main reason the line-up was so long was that the staff was so overwhelmed with running the place they wouldn't notice when people would leave, so we'd be staring at what were empty seats for 10 minutes straight. The drinks weren't amazing and the food available at that time was mediocre. All and all it was crowded and poorly managed, it felt like the main point is to squeeze as much money out of people's pockets as possible, with very little consideration for the quality of the experience. We're not going to go again, I would recommend avoiding unless you're a masochist or there is no line-up:). I saw the owner replies to these reviews, and I was under the impression that the feedback is taken into consideration but I was very disappointed to see that the bad reviews are very spot on and the replies be a cheap way of damage control. No ill comment towards the staff, they seemed to be doing the best they could given the situation.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Last night, we had the pleasure of dining at La Taverne de Noël, and I can confidently say it was an unforgettable experience! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm smiles and a festive atmosphere that truly set the tone for the evening. The service was outstanding. Despite the restaurant being busy, the staff remained incredibly friendly and accommodating, ensuring that we felt well taken care of throughout our meal. Their attentiveness and professionalism really stood out, making us feel valued as guests. Now, onto the food—simply excellent! The chef did an incredible job, not only in terms of flavor but also in presentation. Each dish was beautifully arranged, showcasing the care and creativity that went into the preparation. It was a feast for both the eyes and the palate! Moreover, the Christmas decor was absolutely enchanting. The festive touches throughout the restaurant added to the overall charm and made our dining experience feel even more special. I highly recommend La Taverne de Noël to anyone looking for a delightful meal in a warm, welcoming environment. We left with full bellies and happy hearts, and we can't wait to return!

The ambiance is stunning, it feels like you’re inside a magical Christmas tree. The food was decent, with the poutine-style pizza being a standout. Our waiter was friendly and attentive, but the hostess was unprofessional and rude. When we asked for recommendations, she claimed it was her second day and hadn’t tried anything. While that’s understandable, her tone lacked professionalism and warmth. She refused to take a photo for nearby guests with attitude and rudely told others to return to their original table. When we asked for help with a cocktail my friend couldn’t drink, she bluntly refused, though our waiter later fixed the issue kindly. As someone who has worked in restaurants ranging from casual to fine dining as a hostess myself, I was shocked by the lack of professionalism. Any interaction, no matter how small, can make or break a guest’s experience. This behavior not only risks alienating customers but could also lead to negative word-of-mouth for the business.

I'm writing here because I tried to call many times today and tonight and no one ever answers. My friends and myself were at your place today. They brought their kids between the ages of 10-17 and a precious boy who is special needs "in a chair" who is10 years old. We saw the beautiful taverne on tik tok and all we wanted was to have a nice outing, but unfortunately we didn't due to a VERY RUDE staff member. After waiting outside for 2 hours we never got served, there was no more chocolate "for hot chocolate" and she had NO problem with us leaving. One of your waitresses was SO RUDE it was ridiculous! We asked for her name and she said she did not want to give it to us because it's only two days that she's working there!? Black hair, a ponytail about 5'10 wearing all black. Our experience is quite long to write so if the owner would like to speak with me please respond to this message and I will call you when you're available at the taverne. I have to give you an example of what happened today because many people even witnessed this. When we sat down she said "oh you guys can sit here if you want but I won't be serving you, were very busy." She also told one of her co-workers "they could sit there all day I am not serving them" We heard some of your staff members talking to each other and saying that they could not believe that she was purposely ignoring us! If you have a surveillance video it's all there. Like I said, there's a lot more that she said and did so let me know when I can contact...

Je me dois d'expliquer mon évaluation !

I feel compelled to explain my rating! The place is truly beautiful, with an amazing atmosphere. The meal was perfect, especially the pear and walnut pizza—absolutely Wow! The service provided by Théo was simply outstanding 🤩.

However, upon our arrival, we noticed two young women who seemed disengaged: they were chatting with each other, leaning against the counter, and clearly doing nothing. An hour later, they were still there, in the same situation, talking amongst themselves. Meanwhile, it had been over 20 minutes since we finished our meal, and no one had come back to clear our table or check if we wanted anything else. Théo, who was already doing an incredible job, was running everywhere—serving, making drinks, and so on.

Eventually, my partner had to get up and ask one of the women behind the counter for information about the beers. She came over to our table, but it was obvious that we had disturbed her, and she wasn’t pleased about it. My annoyed look met hers, and without saying a word, I simply gestured toward the plates and glasses we had carefully stacked to make it easier for her and perhaps help poor Théo, who was doing absolutely everything!

To my great surprise, and in a frustrated tone, she responded—without any exaggeration on my part: “With the look you’re giving me, the fridge is over there—you can go get your beer yourself.”

She then left with the smallest stack of plates and never returned 🤬. (For reference, it was a young woman wearing a beige cap and black glasses.)

The four of us at the table were left speechless by her attitude. After more than 20 years of experience in customer service myself, I have never encountered such unprofessional behavior.

It’s no surprise that this establishment’s rating is 3.3. The owners really need to address this issue because it directly impacts the reputation of...
