A very disappointing experience for the first time.
We researched their $1 oyster happy hour and booked our reservation to arrive at 5pm when it starts. When we are seated, our waitress tells us that those oysters are no longer in season and they stopped serving them two weeks ago. However, it says on the sign right outside the restaurant that they have them. Several other people who got seated after us came in for the same thing and were disappointed as well. Our waitress was pretty inconsistent as she told one table it was changed 2 days ago and another table that they just changed it.
Either way, many people left due to this news. We decided to stay cause we had to be somewhere in an hour and didn’t have time find another restaurant. We decided to order some food anyways and it was decent but nothing special.
We had mentioned that we were on a time crunch and that we would like to get our food as soon as possible. When we inquired about how long it would take, our waitress seemed flippant and said that it was ready and that we should just wait.
When we got the bill, we noticed that we had an $8 charge for water. Our waitress had asked us when we sat if we would like sparkling or still water. We said still as that’s what we usually get and didn’t want to pay for water. She came back with a bottle of Evian, cracked it open, and poured us each a glass. We had assumed it was a free service since nothing was stated otherwise, but apparently not. I told her that she never told us it was not free and she responded with “but it came in a bottle”. Her attitude was very forthcoming and she acted like we should’ve known better.
When we went to pay we mentioned that we were upset about the false advertising and she responded with “it was your choice to stay”.
Overall, it was a restaurant without much class or good service. I was surprised that instead of being sympathetic or understanding to our situation, the staff seemed to feel as though they were always in the right. We were very disappointed with how our evening went and will definitely...
Read moreMy wife and I decided to try the restaurant yesterday evening after a Cirque Du Soleil show we attended for our one year wedding anniversary. Based off of good reviews and appetizing pictures, we decided to try the food.
Upon arriving we noticed the restaurant had a cozy, intimate ambience and 3 tables were occupied of the total 10-12 tables in the restaurant. My wife and I both ordered their Table D’hote (the 7oz AAA angus sirloin). I noticed one other person beside me had ordered at the same time as us but ordered a filet mignon. Another group of 3 walked in afterwards and ordered their food as well (two salads, and one steak). For some reason the waitress came to inform us that there was “a mix up” with our food and as a result all of the guests who arrived after us, including the two that ordered steaks got their food before us, thus making us wait much longer than we deemed necessary.
We finally got our food and I immediately noticed our steaks were already cut. That is a red flag as I know one of two things must have happened: the chef cut the meat as it was being cooked, or after it was cooked before it had time to rest. The meat was incredibly dry (I ordered mine medium and my pregnant wife ordered her’s well done). Extremely hard to chew and swallow.
Not once did someone come to check on us after we got our meals to ask if everything was okay, or if we needed anything. We were left to eat our food dry, and without any water once we received our food. We were too embarrassed to complain at the restaurant. But I have to inform anyone who is reading this to please make sure your food is well cooked and that if it isn’t to inform someone.
Unfortunately our experience spoiled the rest of what was supposed to be a beautiful celebration of our one year wedding anniversary.
The only saving grace was the sauce on the meat...
Read moreI really wanted to love this experience, although it ended horribly. Do not get me wrong, the food and the vibes were excellent, but the service was not up to par.
When we first ordered, I advised the waiter I am severely allergic to tree nuts. We started with beef tartare and ordered our mains right away. We ended up adding a salad, once our appetizer was done, expecting it to arrive with our food. We let the waiter know we no longer wanted the salad since it was still not ready once we began eating our mains. The waiter responded with “I’ll go make it myself, it’ll take 2 minutes”. All this to say, we finally began eating our meals and salad. As I said, it was all delicious, although I suddenly couldn’t breathe. I asked the waiter immediately if there was nuts in anything, to which he responded “the salad is dressed in a walnut sauce”. Also, no where on the menu does it indicate the house salad is dressed in nut sauce, which is misleading and dangerous. To give you perspective, this is a white sauce, that does not look like it contains nuts. But the fact that he immediately knew is disappointing.
I’m not sure if this waiter (tall blonde guy) is purposefully malicious or just ignorant, but that was absolutely terrifying for me. He told us not to pay and “just go”. The restaurant did not reach out to see if I was okay, nor did anyone help me. My boyfriend and I called the ambulance, and there was obvious commotion caused by the first responders, and no one did a thing.
This is absolutely unacceptable. The waiters should be educated about allergies and intolerances because they are real. I don’t understand how you forget “a severe allergy”. I ended a date night in the emergency, had several Epipens injected, and am now no longer comfortable with...
