Restaurant L'Évidence — Restaurant in Montreal

A very nice place with a great potential to become a staple venue in the area. Unfortunately our experience was a significant disappointment.

THE PROS:

The receptionist was very polite and pleasant to communicate with. She found us a place to our liking in only a few moments, and made sure we're comfortable.

The menu is very appealing and opens up the appetite, with items on the menu that I haven't found in many terraces in the area.

THE CONS:

The food we received was unfortunately not in line with the menu. A fruit bowl for 10$ had a piece of apple, two pieces of orange, a third of a banana, one strawberry and 6 grapes...

the coffee was sub par, especially in comparison to the coffee served on most terraces within the vicinity.

the fries were yesterday's fries reheated, dripping in oil and stale

one of our orders came missing half of the ingredients, and the eggs were watered down

the quantity of one of the orders was very little, not enough to spread on half of the bagel it came with.

the food took quite some time to come to the table given that the place wasn't crowded.

It's unfortunate that such a nice place with lots of potential wouldn't have a better quality and quantity of food, especially that the prices are rather expensive...

Atrocious. This was the second chance I gave them after a first sub-par experience about 6 months ago. Food was delayed on Skip the Dishes. Then the courier was changed (which may be Skip’s fault, but still). I had a feeling the food would have issues. I placed the order at 12:15 and received it at 2pm. Cold fries, of course. Uncooked burger (very pink meat). The “free” french toast they threw in was soggy and the edges were full of uncooked slimey egg! If you’re going to offer free small dishes as incentive for a larger order, at least make sure it’s edible?! On top of which, my salmon-stuffed avocado was instead a green salad with shrimp and avocado. The shrimp itself was delicious, and my fruit plate was decent but quite small. Seeing all the awful reviews, I’m curious why this place is still...

Went here for dinner on a thursday as it wasn't terribly busy. Reviews looked good. The service was amazing and the workers were very friendly and attentive. Our food wasn't the greatest...It took almost an hour to get outrmeals out to us. The server was super appologetic, we weren't really bothered. My boyfriend got the steak dinner that came with salad and dessert. He had a hard time eating the steak, it was rather tough and not a great cut. Our meals came out about 20 mins before close. We realized this place had great reviews for breakfast. So maybe come here for breakfast...
