Viva Restaurant + Pizzeria + Bar — Restaurant in Montreal

To the owner, if you can't provide a respectable service, dont take the reservation. If you choose to take the reservation, dont be greedy and hire more staff. We were a group of 20, there was another group beside us. One of us ordered a bottled water and another one ordered a beer, it took almost an hour and 15 min for them to get it, how hard is it to serve a bottled water!!! we got our entrées 1h30 after we ordered them, the cocktails right after, when they supposed to arrive before. Then, 2 hours in, one of us who ordered a pizza with anchovies was notified that they are out of anchovies, that is 5 min before they start serving the main course. And of course, all that time, we could see the pizza guy wasnt very busy. Thank good she took another pizza and it doesnt take long to do, since the pizza guy had nothing else to do. So, our celebration was also ruined by the crappiest service i had, and i use to work in a restaurant and i rarely speak against a restaurant because i know what it is like but this time.... if i can put 0...

Not sure where to start. We were here last night for a birthday and there were around 15 of us. First off, our drinks took about an hour if not more to make it to the table and were not great. We ordered the clams as an entree and was told it could be shared. The clams were so small, there was barely any meat in them. My wife was extremely disappointed. The seafood paella at 36$ is a rip off. Barely any seafood (4 shrimps, 4 very thin pieces of calamari, 3 very dry muscles and once again those tiny clams, about 4 of them) and not that much rice either. 20$ paella at best. Portions are too small for the price and nothing really stood out. Very disappointed and will not be returning to Viva. With a bill of over 230$ for two, this was probably one of the worst restaurant experiences. We had even brought our own cake and the staff could not even put a candle we had brought and light it, my wife had to go do it for them....

What a PHENOMENAL restaurant !! Food was out of this world delicious! Service amazing! Impeccably clean! I was so impressed by everything I can’t wait to go back! I can still taste the food in my mouth from last night ! Our waiter Sam was so kind and patient with taking our orders and suggesting dishes! The owner was so thoughtful suggested us a better spot to sit that’s warm and next to the heater, he even gave us some shots of Porto on the house ! Felt like I was eating at a family member’s house! Thank you Gabriella and Alciendo for your hospitality and great service and food I am counting the days to come back because I just can’t get over how amazing the food was!!!
