Read moreI was surprised to find Jamaican cuisine at Jasper and it did not disappoint. I came here twice for lunch and dinner during my stay at Jasper. Their sandwiches were great especially the sourdough bread is crisp with the melting cheese combo which was amazing. I tried their fireball sandwich, crabmeat grilled cheese, jerk chicken grilled cheese, and bad boy grilled cheese with pulled pork. The jerk chicken and bad boy definitely have some heat to it. All the sandwiches come with choices of soup, salad, coleslaw or fries (additional one dollar). I got soup of the day both times with Thai Chicken and Potato Bacon which both of them were delicious. I wish they served them in larger bowls. I also tried their joint fries which were fried perfectly and I love the pesto maple aioli. The next meal we got spinach and artichoke dip which they served it hot and fresh. It was delicious and the best I've ever had. I tried their Ting and tropical juice of pineapple guava which were extremely refreshing with the meals. In addition, they are pet friendly with outdoor seating! Highly recommend if you ever...
Read moreFantastic hidden gem in Jasper. 100% recommended and must try.
We wanted something unique and non-pub food with some spice to keep us warm on a cold day. This place was amazing. I'll get to the food a bit later but the owner was fantastic and very pleasant to chat with. We talked about ginger beer, a Jamaican sorrel drink amongst other things. The Old Jamaican ginger beer they have in the fridge is the best I've had flavour wise. I wanted to try the spicy version but I get that most visitors can't handle the kick.
The jerk chicken sandwich was delicious. The bread was nicely grilled, warm and fluffy. The aoili was delicious. The jerk chicken was the star. Very nicely marinated and still juicy.
We also had the spicy beef patties. The flavour was really delicious and on point. I do wish there were beef chunks instead of minced beef for some texture.
I wish there were some ackee and salt fish, curries, oxtail. Basically more traditional Jamaican comfort food but I get they need to cater to the locals and tourists.
I would 100% come back to the restaurant and recommend everyone...
