Been excited to try this place since I moved to Windsor. Needless to say I'm really disappointed in the way we were treated. I went with my partner, and a friend who traveled to visit us. We wanted to treat her to a fancy dinner after a fantastic day downtown. It started out good, we walked in around 730 or 8 on Saturday April 29 without a reservation. None of us had been before so we didn't know if we would need one. The person at the front was amazing and tried straight away to find us a table even though we said we were OK at the bar if needed. Then when they gave us a table our waitor immediately treated us badly. Comments made such as "you havent even looked?" And "are you finally done" and "that's great no one will judge you at villians" were made. Each of us individually picked up on how upset and passive aggressive he was with us, though none of us could figure out why. Whether it was how we looked or our age, we continued to be charitable the entire meal. Maybe he's having a bad night, maybe it's busier than he's used to. But he was nice to all of the other tables other than ours. By the end of the dinner my friend refused dessert because "we've been treated so badly I don't want to give more money to this place". I was mortified. It put a negativity on our entire evening since. My partner tried to say something on the way out while my friend and I left outside because we felt so terrible. The waitor denied everything that was said, he never introduced himself and he was rushing us from the beginning (asking us "how are you handling the bill" before my friend even finished wine or we finished dessert.) The other staff clearly didn't believe my partner on what happened and the guy was there himself vehemently denying it. So we left. No matter the reason this happened to us, I myself went to culinary school and I know one thousand percent this is not how we should have been treated. We were happy walking in and grateful for the table we got. We left feeling horrible and an hour or so later I'm here writing this review. The food itself was fantastic and I wish we could go back but this is sincerely a...
Read moreThis is the second time I've submitted this review, why it keeps going away is another matter.. We went out on a Saturday night to a concert at the casino. Made reservations here for 7:30 PM. I have been a customer of La Guardia for well over 25 years and was a regular here for lunch for many years, along with occasional dinners. This is the second bad experience in 3 years and I won't be going back.
The dinners ordered was a seafood dish, and I attempted to order pasta with meat sauce and meatballs. We started off with Caesars and bread, no alcohol. Although the salads were ok, and the bread ok, we were charged $4.95 for 4 pieces of bread after our first order. The seafood dish was (as described to me) "horrible" and "chewy". The waiter told me that at 7:30 on a Saturday night "WE HAVE NO MEATBALLS".. Seriously? What Italian eatery has no meatballs on a Saturday night ? And as a long time patron of this restaurant, I am fully aware of the taste of the food here.. What hit my plate was NOT the food I have been accustomed to. This was exactly like "Spaghetti-O's" sauce.. If you were blindfolded in a taste test, you would swear it was a bowl of canned crap. Nothing like the garlic filled joy I used to eat here. It's really gone to the dogs. And our final price tag on this huge production?? Just under $90.00 for 2 people with no alcohol. Wow.
My advice to anyone considering eating here. I know Windsor has lost some great places to eat over the last few years. But bite the bullet, walk the extra 2 blocks and hit The Keg. Dollar wise you're way better off. And the food is at the very least consistent. I would...

My wife and I got married over the weekend and La Guardia catered our wedding reception. We absolutely loved the food served and so did all of our guest. Many people honestly said their meal was one of the best they've had at a wedding.
From the moment we went to the restaurant to inquire about their catering service we had a pleasant experience. Joe, the chef who walked us through all of our meal plans for the evening, went above and beyond our expectations. He attentively answered all of our questions with great detail and made sure that our evening was perfect.
Our entrée's for the evening were personally tailored to our needs from start to finish. We had the chance to taste our meal ahead of time to make sure we enjoyed what would be served.
Dishes for the evening:
Bruschetta Primerva Salad Tortellini La Guardia Veal La Guardia Pollo Limone Steamed vegetables
Our meal was served buffet style prepared for 135 guest and arrived the day of our wedding fresh and ready to plate. The food did not waiver in flavour or quality from when we first sampled our main coarse weeks before. Portion sizes were also generous and the overall price was quite reasonable.
We can't describe enough in length how incredible chef Joe was throughout our entire process. Our wedding would not have been as successful without his help. We are confident should you choose La Guardia to cater your wedding or any event for that matter. You will not be...
