We were in town with a group of 20 people of 40-45 year old men. We were all talking and the manager had asked us to be quiet in a condescending way. Then she comes back and looks at us and asks if "this going to be a problem" At that point we had already ordered 3 bottles of wine and a few drinks for the table. We had asked the server who she was and he said she was a manager (a women with blonde hair) at that point we just said that she was insulting and we just wanted the bill because she didn't understand the hospitality business. Most of us had worked in the restaurant business and how she was talking to us was uncalled for. Our table would have spent a min of a 2000 dollars and that she should be thankful considering how competitive it is in the city of Kingston. The server leaves and then returns and asked if we would stay if she was gone for the evening and if we saw her in the restaurant he would comp our drinks. We talked it over and decided to stay. I don't think we would go there again not because of the service or food but for how the manager treats patrons. Found a picture of her on their instagram just so there's a clear understanding of which manager we are referring too. She should think of a career change because it clearly shows that she doesn't understand the service industry.

Went for dinner with the wife today, while visiting Kingston Ontario. Even though parking was hard to find at first the experience was worth it. The portions you receive here is alot more than I would've expected and the food is very mouth watering, like on another level. We over ordered cause we didn't know the portions were going to be that big. At the end of it all we ended up spending about 150$ which included at 25$ tip. Here's what we ordered: *Blackberry Mint Fizz (a great fizzy drink for the non alcoholics) *Chicken Bites (great app with a great portion size) *Parm Ranch Fries (recommend for anyone who likes/loves parm. These fries are addictive) *Kimchi Fries (This was something completely new for me but tasted great, would recommend) *Veal Tomahawk Steak (mouth watering, melting in your mouth with a blast of flavor I'm sure you've never tasted before. Highly recommend, anything between medium rare to medium well) *Seared Rare Tuna (delicious with the blend of flavor from the fried rice and seasonings. Would recommend as well, hands down)

We stopped by the red house for dinner and had the arugula and goat cheese salad, the house burger and the veggie lasagna. The salad was pretty good. The combo of spicy arugula with goat cheese and a sweet praline topping is hard to get wrong. The salad is available in two sizes - the side size and a meal size. We got the meal size which is not going to fill most people up. However the quality is decent. The house burger was good but a tad on the salty side for me. The bun is excellent and soft. The stand out for me were the fries. They seemed fresh cut and crispy, with the skins on. The basil aioli is special. The only miss for me.is that the entire meal is on the salty side, which is alright for a pub meal with alcoholic drinks. The veggie lasagna was on the drier side, which didn't require the two large pieces of bread with it. The lasagna was also not reheated properly all the way through which was disappointing. Overall, we were pretty hungry and the meals were fine. I remember the food experience being a lot better in the past.

My husband and I are passing through town and needed a place to eat dinner. I glanced through yelp and decided on this place. We managed to get a table outside. The waiter was very attentive and knew the menu and drink list. We both ordered beer, the wheat beer was good. My husband had a darker red beer and liked it. This restaurant has amazing food and even better service! My review is splitting hairs because it was that good.

We started with the house smoked meat and cheese the meat was smoked well and delicious. The cheese was sharp and buttery. The grainy mustard was a perfect compliment to the meat and cheese.

For dinner I had the duck breast. It was a little over cooked. I prefer my duck to be medium rare or medium. Rosy pink on the inside and this was more well. The outside was crispy and seasoned well, which made up for it. The wilted spinach, mushrooms, and onions were a great addition, earthy. The beets were a little too much. The cut up ones were good with the goat cheese, but the spiraled ones were too much. I would have pickled one of them to have contrasting flavors. The bowl was also not a great choice. It was hard to eat.

My husband's meal was good, but small. He had the jerk chicken leg with polenta. He would have liked 1 legs instead of one. The jerk rub was good and the chicken was juicy. The polenta was perfect, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside.

Overall we would definitely come back to this place! Delicious food, great service, and to make it even sweeter, they give out soft fleece blankets for the patio if...

We had a pretty awful experience here. I suggested this restaurant to the group of friends I was going out to dinner with as it had been recommended to me. We were a group of five. We were sat right at our reservation time—7pm. It took about 10 minutes for a server to come to the table, and about another ten to get our first round of drinks — but they were decently busy at this point so it was understandable. However, all the food took extremely long to come to our table. Our apps took about 45 minutes. And we received our mains at a few minutes before 8:30. Our server apologized about an hour into the wait for the long times. To be honest for it being that brutal we were expecting a manager to touch the table but no one ever did. Our apps were good. But the mains were pretty awful. The halloumi in my sandwich was almost entirely burnt black on one side and completely cold. The sandwich was supposed to have other toppings, but instead it only came with one slice of tomato that covered about half the bun. No one asked if it was okay to completely forgo the other toppings or if I wanted to sub them out if they were unavailable. Overall it was fairly gnarly. I feel pretty confident that they must have just been having an off night, as I’ve heard good things about the restaurant. They took our app and one of our two rounds of drinks off of the bill, which was very kind. But leaving having still paid over 60 bucks (for myself and my husband) was brutal for the service and...

In town and visiting friends, we were drawn to the downtown area to visit the marina, the outdoor market and the Kingston Buskerfest taking place that weekend. My friend insisted we had to visit Red House and try their crispy buttermilk chicken bites. Indeed, she divulged that she's never ordered anything else - because she finds them so delicious that she can't bring herself to try anything else.

We dropped in on a Saturday at 2 pm and were immediately seated. The waiter was attentive and happily answered any questions we had. I admit that I did not have the crispy buttermilk chicken bites (although my friend did) as I was drawn to the fried chicken version, which uses the same recipe for the coating. The chicken came on a buttermilk biscuit and was dressed with a delicious honey mustard and crispy, tangy pickles. I ordered fries as a side and was not disappointed to find that they were crispy and everything you could wish a French fry to be.

If you have never tried a Liefman's Fruitesse, you really should. It's a popular item on the beer menu, sells out regularly at the beer store, and tastes absolutely wonderful - essentially like heaven in a glass.

All-in-all, a wonderful dining experience with delicious food, an enjoyable atmosphere and attentive service. We will definitely be back again to visit...
