I would like to take a moment to express our experience on August 21 at your restaurant. My partners were thrilled to visit Chez Piggy for the first time to celebrate his birthday. Unfortunately, the experience from reservation to in-person was less than what we expected. The wait to be served took between 15-20 minutes long, and the food's quality and flavour were not meeting its reputation and nowhere near as good as it used to be. I ordered the iced dirty chai tea, and I was disappointed with how it tasted. The balance between the chai tea and espresso was completely off. We ordered fries, calamari, and the specials of the night. The fries were basic from presentation to flavour, and the calamari was served cold and had to be sent back for a remake. The remake tasted better, but the flavour, texture, and presentation were still basic. I questioned the quality and was told it wasn't from frozen. I think there's a need to re-evaluate the level of excellence of these dishes. Our first course was poorly executed, from presentation to flavour. I sent it back, and my partner got a Caesar salad as a replacement, which was not their favourite. Receiving a full bill without any effort made to recover our poor experience was disappointing. Though you made an effort to remove the calamari and drinks from the bill, those are basic customer service gestures in the industry. We were hoping for something above and beyond to recover from the experience. It felt like there was almost instant deflection and defensiveness every time feedback was given. As a frequent customer, I found today's experience disappointing as a whole. I hope this feedback will inspire your restaurant to find new ways to improve the current menu and better focus on customer service to go above and beyond to provide exceptional experiences for others.

My friend and I chose this place as it has a very good reputation. We made a lunchtime reservation and were greeted by a nice lady who showed us to our seat. Our server was very disappointing however - she said were we interested in hearing the specials which we were, she started telling us about it. However when my friend mentioned that she's vegetarian, the server said 'just look at the menu and you'll find some vegetarian options and that's saved my time' and walked off. We found her weirdly sarcastic - not even bothering to point out what were the vegetarian options to us. The menu doesn't have these options marked out. When we did order, the food arrived quickly and was delicious. The cold and sarcastic service however left a sour taste. The lady appeared to be busy and maybe was having a bad day. I did tip her for her hard work but I didn't feel she was warm and friendly. Surely you can do better with your service when some vegetarian brown people show up for lunch next time. Otherwise, there's lots of nice places in Kingston. We will avoid this place in future.

Grabbed lunch here with a big group of people and we were all very pleased with our food! We made the fantastic choice of sharing plates so I got to try a bit of everything: *Hummus + Pita: Comes with a couple of ingredients you'll find in a greek salad. It was good! *Crispy glazed duck drumettes: A tad spicy from the gochujang but wonderful flavour. It might not be a crowd pleaser but it was a pleasant surprise to me. *Cha Gio spring rolls: Amazing! If you're looking for something everyone will like, this is it. *Tom Yum Talay: Very popular, according to our server. It could've used a bit more seafood and it was a bit spicy but this was my favourite dish I tried. *Beet, Goat, Avocado salad: Ordered this with chicken on the side. The avocado was creamy but I found the flavour of the beets to be too overpowering for my taste (but if you're a fan of beets, you might like this!) *Linguini Aglio Olio: A favourite among our table. *Summer in the city: The taste of pesto was amazing! Very tasty dish. Our server was incredible and very helpful. I would love to come back any time!

My wife's eggs benny were incredibly over done and day and came with what can only be described as a minuscule amount of hollandaise sauce. When we mentioned how dry they were and that we'd like some extra sauce, we were still charged for it even though it was requested in order to make the dish edible. The Chez Piggy club was serviceable. That's the best thing I can say about it. The bread wasn't toasted at all, something you'd expect from a club sandwich. The chipotle aioli was barely visible and couldn't be tasted at all. The star of our meal was the soup of the day which I got as a side for my sandwich, it was a lovely carrot, coconut curry soup. Very very delicious. Aside from charging us for the extra sauce (which should have been on the eggs to begin with), our server, Elliot, was an absolute gem. Extremely friendly, very personable, checked up on us, etc. The atmosphere is nice, the service was great, but I can't recommend this based on the food we received. Unfortunate, as this place has been a staple of the city for decades.

My taste buds have never been as happy and satisfied as they were the night I took my Dad out for supper at Chez Piggy. And the atmosphere was warm and welcoming with a hint of relaxation. Perfect for either a quick knosh before work or a romantic dinner for two! Friendly, knowledgeable and courteous staff who definitely know how to make you feel welcomed. The delicious menu choices made it hard to choose, but I finally ordered Scallops and Bubbles. After munching on some of the best sour dough bread I have ever had, hot and fresh from the oven, I could hardly contain myself as my plate was laid in front of me. It was perfect. A wonderful and delectable sight and smell! Pea Risotto in a Prosecco and lemon sauce, with pea sprouts and crispy pancetta under 5 of the biggest scallops I have ever seen! The flavors were absolutely gorgeous! And it was all I could do to contain my myself from devouring my meal with vigor! I highly recommend visiting Chez Piggy at least once in your lifetime...I can guarantee it won't be your last!

Chez Piggy has the best risotto that I have had in a long time! I highly recommend it! The server said it was spicy, but it really wasn't. There was some kick, but I barely noticed and I do not do spicy. It was really more for flavour. You can see from my photo that it came with so many mussels, calamari and big shrimp! It is expensive, but it was so worth the money. It was creamy and delicious!! We also ordered the hummus and pita. I wish it came with more pita bread. I'm sure you could ask. We just ate it by itself, because it was still tasty. Lastly, we ordered the Korean Mandu Potstickers. There was kimchi and bulgogi inside. I didn't find it spicy and it was just ok to me. The sauce made it better Next time, I will order other items from the menu and the risotto again!! FYI: book reservations. The place is pretty small with a few tables. It's also in the alley if you miss it.
