Good portions, good food, decent prices. Specials on most days. Tuesday was Halibut or Cod specials. Had the two-piece Cod dinner for $17.25 plus tax. Store does cash, visa, and Mastercard for payment. Wednesday has a very affordable Haddock option. Fish was crispy, airy, and non greasy. A whitish coating versus the usual golden yellow of most fish and chippies. Fries my fave style of I suspect, a double fry. Crispy, not soggy and again not greasy. Wait was negligible at 5 pm and staff friendly and all appearance enjoyed their work and the work environment..Nice to see. Lots of tables are available to dine in. Sparse but clean decor and many options to eat. Ice cream, pie, butter tarts, and eclairs on offer for desert here. For the negative. Took my takeout down to enjoy at the river. I'm all excited, opened that bad boy up, and......no fork, or napkin. I was offered condiments, so why not cutlery and napkin. Now, if you don't automatically include them, I get that on cost and waste, but please ask. If you don't have them to offer, I won't be back. It is a miss on your part. I travel through to Windsor multiple times a month and eat out always, so I'm not a local with a drawer full of plastic forks available.🤣 Aslo in hindsight. I probably would've taken a drink if offered and upsold. I didn't think of it at the time, and it was a warm...
Read moreFirst time trying Sir Cedrics in Windsor. I'll give it a hearty rave. Two piece cod special on Tuesday. Decent price, big pieces of fish. Chip style my fave. A crunchy, double fried, non greasy fry with great taste. Fish batter is a little different. Not a golden brown but light, airy and crunchy with no hint of heavy grease. Lovely. Dined out. However loads of inside eating and very sparsely busy at 5pm on a Tuesday. Love that the staff are friendly, lively and actually appear to enjoy their jobs. Service was quick but I'm lodging my only complaint. Was asked what condiments were required. Good job... ran off to enjoy my dinner down on the water. Open her up all excited and....no fork, no napkin at all. Ugh. If you don't supply those automatically then please ask me if I want them. I get the wastage that occurs and savings are warranted but they aren't condiments and if you don't have them to offer or make me aware to ask I wouldn't be back. It was a miss on your part. Read moreI'm only going to give three stars because I can't really complain about the food given that it's fish and chips... from Windsor.
I got back from Newfoundland and had fish and chips (cod) at Chucky's inn. Its in the east coast right on the bay. They get the fresh cod from a fish plant about 500 meters down the road. You can say the bar was set a little bit high.
That being said, pretty sure the fish came from a box and just gets dropped in the deep fryer. Lots of breading with a wee bit of fish. The chips are plentiful.. and tasteless. The tartar sauce was pretty good. I did leave a decent chunk of my dinner behind, didn't keep the fries because they always become gross for eating later and left half a piece of fish because the taste started getting to me.
I had the Cod dinner and a soft drink. This includes two pieces of cod, plentiful amount of fries, a coleslaw (was pretty good, but I like creamy coleslaw and this one was watery) and a bun (ask for it to be warmed!).
Had to ask for tartar sauce and lemon.
Tuesdays is a bit cheaper for the meal I ordered. My total was 17.80 not including tip.
I'm just looking at the website again and supposedly halibut is there specialty...
