Went here for a birthday dinner for my dad a few hours ago, and I’m so sad our experience wasn’t great. I’ve been a fan of the Keg for a long time and this is the first time it’s been anything less than stellar. The hosts were cold and unfriendly, the door into the building was jammed so it was difficult to get in, and our dining experience was disappointing. Our appetizer was wrong, my mom ordered the escargot but got the Neptune mushrooms instead (which were still fantastic), and our waitress’ response wasn’t the greatest she did apologize but then followed it up by saying we had ordered the mushrooms when we didn’t. The white wine came to our table warm. My mom ordered the blackened chicken but when it got to the table it had no seasoning on it, at all, it was still good but it was just regular chicken, not what was expected. Our server did apologize and say it did look like it was under seasoned but only offered to bring seasoning out to our table. Our server also dropped our folded bill onto the table (without a billfold) by popping behind my mom and sliding it on the table without checking in to see if we were even done our desserts. We had to flag down a manager to speak to, Tommy, he was very friendly and is the reason I’m leaving 2 stars instead of 1. He sat down with us to listen to what we had to say and to remedy the situation as best he could. The entire restaurant was chaotic and pretty unorganized and unfortunately the overall experience we had left a sour taste in our mouths and we left pretty disappointed. I hope this is a one off experience as every other time I’ve been to the Keg it’s been amazing.

It was our first time at the Keg Steakhouse and it won't be our last. First, it's in a beautiful location and if you are seated outdoors you will enjoy the beauty of the riverfront while you dine. Inside, the service is impeccable. From the moment you walk through the entrance, you are greeted with smiles and a service staff that are near and will dressed. For the experience, I expected to pay at least 30% more than we did for restaurants in this category. I found them quite affordable. The food was a "solid good." It was cooked, presented, and seasoned well. There wasn't anything that we felt was so delicious, we will order it again when we are back. But it was our first time, and it was just my husband and I. We are excited about coming back again for the experience with this beautiful restaurant and top notch staff. When we made our reservations, we wote about my husband's egg and tree nut allergies. And when we got there, our wait staff Mo, went above and beyond to make sure my husband knew exactly what he could order. We spent $131 CDN, without drinks.

Our family of 4 visited on a Friday night in November for my daughter's and husband's birthday. We had a reservation and only waited five minutes. There didn't seem to be a wait for people without reservations. There's a paid parking lot in the back. That's a nice seating area out front with heaters. It would be nice looking out over the river in the warm season. We ordered sirloin with salad and garlic mashed potatoes. A loaf of bread also came with our meal. The kids got chicken strips and fries. Everything was top notch. Our steaks were done perfectly. My husband got teriyaki with his and I got the Bourbon pepper sauce. It was amazing and made the meal. Our meals also came with green beans, beats and mushrooms on the side. It was a really nice touch. Also very good. When we were finished our server brought out scoops of ice cream with chocolate sauce for the kids and a giant slice of espresso mousse on a chocolate graham cracker crust with chocolate and caramel sauce and sliced almonds on top. It was to die for! And they comped it for our birthdays. Sooo good!

I’ve been to this location quite a few times, my time is always just “okay”. The food is delicious, but I’m more of a pasta person, so I find I enjoy those kinds of restaurants better for the menu. We enjoyed the seafood garlic shrimp and the lobster tails. Both delicious ! They also give a complimentary bread for the table, usually with a few different butters. The last few times I have made reservations 2-3 weeks in advance. The 1st time we were seated at a cozy table which felt secluded until a table of 6 was sat right beside us. The tables are so close we could hardly hear each other speaking. The last time I was there we sat at a 6 person table just for the 2 of us, it felt odd, as we both sat on the booth side together, because the table was too large to sit next to each other. The service was good, the server knew it was our birthdays so he brought us complimentary cake. I enjoy the restaurant, but I don’t find it very special.

My wife and I went here on Valentine's Day and it was very busy. The atmosphere wasn't too bad, the outside patio area was closed but they still had nice bar and table areas for sitting. The service was alright; we had the baked garlic shrimp, teriyaki sirloin and the keg burger. The baked garlic shrimp was a very small portion and was misleading in size due to the tray shape/depth when we got it. The keg burger was very disappointing in terms of what a burger should be like, however, I was surprised how well the sirloin came out and would recommend that over the other two options. Overall, I do not recommend coming here if you are not a big fan of steak, higher prices, or "fancy" dining. I would not come here again because of those reasons above but was glad I got to try it out for myself.

Came here and the atmosphere and service were great. It was nice to sit outside and get a great view of Detroit while enjoying dinner. The food was decent, and I have definitely had much better for a steakhouse. However I would rank this place is a medium tier steakhouse as the food is decent, but not great. The house bread was very good, and the cheese butter is delicious and goes great with it. As for the steaks they are seasoned well, and maybe a little too we’ll as they were slight salty. They were decent cuts, but definitely not the most tender as they were slightly chewy. The sides were pretty good, especially the garlic mash. The dessert here was good, and as I mentioned before the service was great. I would come again for the vibe and view.
