On May 27th we ordered food from Charminar. 3.5 - 4 Stars
First of all we were told the cook from the previous month was no longer there.
Vegetable biryani. Was good ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. However, it didn’t pack the punch from the previous times. Chole was good. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. But the current chef no longer offers South or North Indian style. We were told there was only one type.
Egg curry… I wouldn’t recommend at all. The whole eggs were in some kind of batter and the gravy was not the best
Puri was rolled too thick unlike the last time ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Bhaji was good.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
All in all a little disappointing from previous experience. Went down from 5 to 3.5 - 4 stars
Hoping for a better experience next time.
On April 29/30 my family ordered large quantity of food from Charminar. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The food was excellent. The chef himself came out to talk to us about each dish and made suggestions Day 1 Idli Sambar and chutneys, idlis were large. They tasted okay but not very fluffy Sambar 5 stars. One of the best sambars we tasted in North America. They gave us large quantity, perfectly spiced and seasoned. Peanut chutney. Rated 5 stars by the peanut lovers in the family. Again, in large quantity Ginger chutney. Not the best
Puri. 5 stars. Very very good . Bhaji. 5 stars. Very tasty and fresh and again a very nice quantity.
Day 2. Everything rated 5 stars. They delivered the food piping hot and on time
Vegetable biriyani. Excellent Amaravati vegetables. Excellent. Very spicy and tasty Chole made South Indian style. Excellent. One of the best choles from a restaurant. Chef’s recommendation.
Karaikudi chicken. 4.75 stars. Excellent gravy. We were warned it is a super hot dish and we were not disappointed. The chicken pieces were good and plenty. I only wish it was dark meat. In my opinion, white meat doesn’t absorb the gravy as well. Especially in South Indian dishes.
Many thanks to the chef and his staff. We will be going...
Read morepleasant experience of family dinner at Charminar Indian Cuisine -Windsor. I can't resist admiring the sumptuous, crispy paper-thin, crisp Dosa wrapped around steaming hot, seasoned with medium spiced potatoes presented in rectangular big size platter. Served with savory chutney, sauces and side dals in small bowls, It definitely paid off our choice to have dinner there. It was a treat to even look at the platter. Dosa is my favorite and it was at its best here in Charminar -Windsor, all my admiration to the chef who made it. Service was exceptional particularly Surendra, very well mannered, fast and attentive to every one including us. This was our 1st experience of this Restaurant and i intend to go there again for Dosa. Ambience was good, inside very welcoming. Must say , all dishes we ordered, were well cooked, tender inside and sumptuous viz chicken Hakka noodles, chilly chicken masala , Chicken Lollipops, well cooked/seasoned and delicious. I think management is lucky to have a good Chef and equally good service...
Read moreVisited on 19th Feb 2023. Firstly they need to work on their food prices, food quality and portions. They need to hire more staff. Felt bad for the girl who was serving 10+ tables by herself. She was overwhelmed which in turn took longer for the food to arrive. I'd suggest calling in before coming to make sure they have everything available you'd be eating. Food quality is not great. I ordered a chicken dosa and the amount of chicken in it was so little. The quality of the chicken was not great, had a layer of uncooked spice paste on it. Sambhar tasted like water. Chicken noodles were good but again there was hardly chicken in them. Ordered masala tea which finally arrived after 30 mins had no sugar in it and my friend has an eyelash in her cup. Nobody filled our water either. Prices are way too high and the quality is not good at all. This was my first and only time coming to the restaurant. I'd not recommend this to my friends. I'd rather get a shawarma platter from...
