Amended June 8 2024 Had dinner this time with beers. Food is just ok. Nothing great. Service is ok nothing special. When you eat downstairs I. The basement is dark. The place is beautiful but it's dark. I wish they would have had a table for two open on the main floor it was empty but reserved?!?!?
Not sure I will go back again.
I enjoyed the place it's beautiful and the service was courteous and helpful. My only concern is, are we really at the stage of offering 3 oz 18-19$ up to 21$ cocktails.again for 3 oz only? I'm not talking about a huge tall long cocktail, not at all, but a champagne size or old fashion size cocktail. And all that because of the ingredients they put into it. OK it seems fancy but it wasn't impressive at all the waiter told us the cocktail my friend had the Apotheka with the Hennessy Scotch has been returned 3 times last week... Huh? My cocktail the Susan Lyon was not particularly good it was a random cocktail at a very high price I would not recommend it and never for such a high price.
I had a Black Kale Ceasar salad with chicken the chicken is pricey but it's worth it. Not enough sauce at all. Bacon is quite good.
I will return for the look of the place but might order wine instead but it's also very pricey have a look at their list... It's probably just because of the location...
Read moreChecked out the rooftop patio for the first time. Very disappointing experience. We started off ordering a bucket of Sol. Only for our server to come back and say they were out of Sol. We asked if we could substitute for another type of beer in the bucket. He said no and we'll have to pay the price per beer. Ok fine. Only to come back again and say they're out of bottles and we had to order cans. He was nice enough to offer a discount for our bill. We had ordered Calamari to share and it was very good. However we were done eating the food before we even got our drinks. It was a very annoying experience. It shouldn't take 25 minutes to get a drink especially after your first 2 requests cant be fulfilled. My fiancée had a whiskey sour and she said it was great. We heard their cocktails were great so they have that going for them. We couldn't help but notice 3 other tables had issues. One with food being messed up, one for things taking too long, and one had an issue with no server and waited way too long before getting up and leaving. The overall vibe of the place seemed like no body cared. No sense of urgency when dealing with customers and being at a place with multiple dissatisfied tables is a real turn off. I don't know if this was an off night for them. But definitely not an experience that made me...
Read moreMe and my almost unbearably lovely drinking partner ventured into this rather cosy lounge last night. We were delighted by the ambience and gentle cascades of laughter coming from the other customers. It was just after getting comfortable in the cosy seats, that almost seemed made for my buttocks, that one of the most pivotal events of our adult lives happened.
We met Kal the waiter
Glorious, beautiful gentle Kal
Kal Immediatly made us feel welcome with his immaculate moustache and charming demeanor. and took our drink order with no fuss and took the time to talk to us for a bit.
after we got to the bottom of our drinks, me and my radiant drinking partner were delighted when Kal, the best waiter in the known Universe, did something entirely unexpected and bestowed upon us a choice of temporary tattoos, much hilarity ensued as we chose our tattoos that we chose to put on our necks. My partner chose a cat on a skateboard and I, of course, chose an inverted crucifix because there is something of the night about me.
on bidding farewell to our beloved Kal, we left the establishment and decided to mark the occasion by breaking into a tattoo parlour and making the tattoos permanent.
May Kal live a long and noble life.
**diclaimer, Kal chooses to spell his name with a C, but I'll...
