I’ve been to The Grand Pizzeria 3 times now and every single time my experience was great thanks to the server! 😊 I’ve tried 3 different pizzas, and my personal favourite is the Diavola pizza which has mozzarella, hot cacciatore salami, and chillies. I’ve also tried the meat lovers but I found it was really salty for me, but it might have just been that day or the prosciutto was a bit on the salty side. The Calvini pizza was good as well but I would’ve preferred if the sausages were abit more crisp, and maybe a bit of spice. I always get a regular size Caesar salad to share because they have very generous portion sizes. And lastly, my favourite dish would have to be RIGATONI AL POLLO... it has chicken, crispy bacon (which is what caught my eye), basil in a cashew cream. I was abit skeptical about the cashew part of it, because I was unsure if I’d like the flavour. Turns out, it was my favourite dish!! Rigatoni was cooked perfectly and the cashew cream had the nicest touch of flavour, I was very surprised how good it tasted!! I highly recommend that dish because I will be getting that every time I go back to The Grand. Lastly, for drinks, since I was there during happy hour, I always end up getting the sangria with the white wine because the red one comes with banana liqueur which I’m not a fan of. I somehow always get seated at the same booth but it kind of makes the experience even nicer because I’m always at the same table. It’s a nice place, good service, good food, and great portion sizes to share with families.

A great pizza place in the heart of Byward market. The food was great, but felt a little expensive. The service was lacking when we went but the venue is fantastic. Order: Quattro Formaggi Pizza ($22.99 each) x1 - Fantastic pizza dough and crust - The four cheese blend was simple but delicious, however the individual taste of each cheese was lost - You can ask for parmesan, a chili sauce, and chili flakes as optional toppings at the table Caprese Salad ($18.99 each) x1 - Below average caprese salad, you can get better for cheaper - Quite expensive for a small salad Bruschetta ($15.99 each) x1 - Soft and squishy bread - Fresh tomatoes - The seasoning could be improved Atmosphere and Site: - The patio is extremely busy with tables during peak times and it can be hard to walk around - The location is amazing with a beautiful view of Byward market from the patio Service: - The service could be improved since there were long waits getting the bill and drinks - Three times wait staff offered us other peoples' orders which put into question the training and quality of staff - After placing the order, drinks took 10~ mins to come out, appetizers took 15~ mins to come out, entrees took 25~ mins to come out

Went for a family birthday celebration. And because it was such a big party we had only a select menu we could have .... think family style meal , one bowl to serve your table of four or a few bowls placed in between groups of people. which was fine and a cute idea! however, with a big crowd comes diversity and there were a few vegan / vegetarians, two of the family members also just had dental surgery and when asked.for substitutes they could eat they were told whatever they ordered would be on top of the meal we.didnt get to choose.. There was a delicious salad to start followed by chicken fingers great for the meat eaters and a veggie spaghetti .. but the vegetarians didn't have an option when others ate the chicken fingers ... even bread would have been njce to offer while others are eating .. Yet we all payed the same price for a shared family style.meal.. where some people didn't eat the food.. Last but not least the pizza came out!! The meat looked great. The veggie one had raw veggies on it .and the dough was very soggy! Might have just been my tables 3 pizzas because other ppl absolutely loved it.. I would have loved the chance to have chosen another pizza as some of the other veggie pizza opions looked amazing !! All in all I'd give it another chance where I could pick my own meal and really try the food! * edit to say we did call before hand to specify there were vegetarians etc. the organizer and a few other people called to ask questions about the set menu! we were told several different things including you couldnt make accommodations other than adding extra veggies to the spaghetti! Being busy isn't an excuse for dietary needs or quality of food!!!!

Well yesterday we went for celebrating my friends birthday at the grand and the experience was disappointing. I called in before to ask if it was allowed to cut the cake inside and I was told we would be charged $1 per person (which makes $4 for four of us) and I said sure. We waited gor the server for 30 mins and when we called one of there server telling that we had been waiting for more than 15 mins, he sassily replied, “I bet its not been more than 15 mins but sure”. Then he messed up our order with bruschetta and instead brought chicken wings which in the beginning he tried to blame on us. Later, I was told that charging for the cake did not even include putting it on a tray or a place it was just for the permission to cut the cake. Eventually, he comes back to inform me that we’ll have to pay $10 for just cutting the cake if we want to. We then decided to not cut the cake there and continue the celebration somewhere else as the tone was always derogatory. It is highly unacceptable we had paid almost $ 200 for our dinner.

Overall, I liked the food, the service was good, and the atmosphere was good. I found the prices to be average for a sit down pizza place. I'd recommend this to anyone visiting the area in the mood for pizza. Food The Calvini pizza had good flavor and the crust was done perfectly. I also ordered a side caesar salad and that was quite good as well. The salad wasn't drenched in dressing and the lettuce had a good crunch to it. Atmosphere The atmosphere was good. I went in the evening so the lighting was low but there were enough ambient non-white light around to keep it from being dark. The non-white florescent light makes the place seem ideal for a dinner date. Service The service was good. Nothing notable to say. Value Overall, the food and drink were fairly priced except the caesar salad. The pizza definitely felt worth the price but the side salad, though it was good, had a hard time feeling worth it being half the price of the pizza.
