When I asked whether six items are tax-free, the response included a generalization about Chinese customers, which felt disrespectful. I’d encourage the bakery to post clear tax information and ensure welcoming, stereotype-free communication. I hope to see improvements.
In my view, a great bakery is half taste and half service. Whatever the quality of the pastries, this interaction overshadowed the experience. It reminds me of the small town bakery I used to go to as a kid. We had some scones, brownies, butter tarts (with/without raisins) and some chocolate croissants.
