Visiting Ottawa would not be complete without indulging in the iconic BeaverTail, and my recent experience with the Hazelnut BeaverTail was nothing short of amazing.
Located conveniently in the heart of the city, the BeaverTail outlet is a delight for anyone with a sweet tooth. The menu boasts a variety of flavors, but the one that stole the show for me was the Hazelnut BeaverTail.
Served warm with a generous spread of deliciously rich and creamy hazelnut spread, the BeaverTail was a true treat. The pastry itself was the perfect combination of crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The subtle sweetness of the dough paired exceptionally well with the decadent hazelnut spread, creating a harmonious blend of flavors that had me reaching for the next bite before I’d even finished the first.
The serving size was more than satisfactory, and despite its richness, the Hazelnut BeaverTail never felt overwhelming. The pastry was consistently delicious from the first bite to the last.
The staff were friendly and efficient, adding to the overall positive experience. If you're in Ottawa and have a penchant for sweet treats, I highly recommend trying the Hazelnut BeaverTail. It’s an indulgence that's...
Read moreI love coming here all the time for my beaver tail hot chocolate fix! But last time I was here on a cold winter night, I ordered 4 cups of hot chocolate for me and my friends. I thought they would at least give me a cardboard box (the one they use to give out beaver tail) in which I could carry the cups back. But the girl at the counter was very rude, told me it wasn't her problem and just shut the window. My friends were not reachable and after several minutes of waiting (during which the hot chocolates were getting cold as it was very cold outside), I finally knocked on the window again and pleaded with her to give me a box because I have no other way and have already paid. She made a face, looked at me as if I had asked her for her kidneys or something and then finally handed me a box. I'm a regular at this place and I've always had fantastic service here. This was a one-off experience and that's why I'm just knocking off one star. Hopefully I don't come across...
Read moreFun place to stop for a snack while walking downtown if you like sweets. It was suggested on Trip Advisor as a top 10 attraction, however the food is slightly underwhelming so unless you are already in the area I wouldn't bother making a special trip. Instead check out the local farmers market and small bakeries like ( Moulin De Provence ) in the surrounding area (2 minute walk) It beats the line for Beavertails and offers more variety. Parents would also prefer the bakeries since the warm Nutella and toppings is pretty messy and bees tend to congregate near the rubbish bins and chase patrons in warm months. When we visited on the weekend it was about a 7 minute wait to order and an additional 6-7 for our order to be prepared. Staff was friendly and professional just swamped with tourists with a limited...
