WOW!! Is the first thing that comes to mind, when i reminisce upon my experience, at Supercharger Pizza; in beautiful Powell River, British Columbia.
I arrived in Powell RIver with the expectation of taking in the great ocean views and exhilarating mountain biking experiences. But, the gem of the trip, was not only the food at Supercharger, but the inviting customer service and 80's nostalgia atmosphere.
The uniquely delicious, and audibly crunchy wings, alone, were worth the ferry ride. The in-house made dips and chili oil were the perfect accompaniment for wings; as well as the tots and pizza items, alike. (the chili oil was out of control good)
In my belief, a pizza is limited to the quality of its dough. The hand made dough at supercharger exceeds any expectation. Therefore, providing a excellent canvas for the fresh and readily available toppings. Toppings, provided from the pridefully vendored farmers markets and artisan made and prepared proteins/cheeses in the near vicinity. The unique and delicious combinations of toppings on the pizzas were expertly thought; covering a wide variety of palate types. All baked to catalyze the bubbling, pillowy yet crunchy finished pizza product (that every pizza lover covets)
In my opinion, if one finds themself in Powell River. They would be doing themself a large disservice by not visiting Supercharger. The ferry ride is truly, only a small obsitice, on route to pizza bliss. In other words, if you do not go to Supercharger you're DUMB!
OH! and the beer list served, as a diverse selection, to pair with any item on the menu; both alcoholic and NA...
Read moreThe new best pizza in town! Great quality ingredients and great dough. Service can be spotty when they are busy but staff are very friendly and the chef is genuinely curious if you enjoyed things.
Killah Bee is my favourite. They are all good though. It's kinda about what you like on pizza. The specials are fun and change often.
They advertise wings and they didn't stand out to me at first, but they are solid. The dipping sauces that come with them are the best part though.
The veggie sides are pretty good. I like the cauliflower dish if it's available, but the salads are all good as are the tots. The Caesar is simple but has a great dressing.
Beer selection is good and a mix of stuff from places like Hoyne, Superflux, LA Cerveceria, etc. They have some beers made just for them as well
Decor is very aggressively 80s child. Like if you could pick what a child of the 80s would say was the best things when they were a child it looks like that but filtered through the viewpoint of a tasteful designer. There is also some fake but beautiful renditions of sporting events that didn't happen in town but theoretically could have if the 1980s Powell River Sporting Association had pristinely saved some...
Read moreWe LOVED our time at Supercharger Pizza last weekend! From start to finish, everything about our experience was really fun and exactly what we needed after a long travel day.
The staff there are awesome - super friendly and welcoming. The decor is so fun and nostalgic. We grabbed a spot on the patio which was perfect for our two kiddos. We loved that the restaurant had sidewalk chalk for them to "decorate" the courtyard with and keep them busy while we enjoyed a refreshing and tasty marg. ;)
The food was awesome. The wings were SO good (herb dip FTW!) and the pizzas were the best we've had in a while. We tried the Kale-y Clarkson feature and absolutely loved it. The pizza dough is perfectly chewy and so tasty, and the ingredients were super fresh.
Highly recommend this spot if you like good food and good vibes. We will definitely be visiting again soon next time we're...
