We came on the third day of opening, a fair sized group of us. I had no idea there was a smokehouse opening up but the moment I knew- I had to try it!
It’s highly recommended that reservations be booked to ensure you get a table. It’s easy to make through google maps, which is how we managed to snag a table. (We were actually able to add ourselves to a friends reservation this way).
This is located in the ballers rec room building. The sign is still up, but they’re closed currently. It’s the left half of the building. It’s been renovated to include a garage door, and a huge viewing window to see the smoker in action.
The dining space is fairly small- for now. Hopefully they do well and can expand!
Decor is phenomenal. Whoever designed this place had some great ideas, because no stone is left unturned. Even the bathrooms are worth a visit.
The menu is very much in line with a traditional smoke house restaurant If you’ve ever had the pleasure of trying one out in another city or in the southern states.
You can order a meat tray (recommended!) or other items individually.
We ordered the brisket mozzarella balls- which were a bit on the heat spicy side. Less cheese noted and mostly full of brisket and sauce. The exterior is nice and crunchy, texturally sound. It was very good and the order was for three. I didn’t particularly enjoy the spiciness of it BUT it is worth a try! Something unique.
I went for a meat tray. Two meat- brisket and pulled pork with a side of Mac and cheese, coleslaw. It comes with corn bread which is delightful. My thinking is to throw the pulled pork into the Mac and cheese. It allowed me to give it a try without needing to buy the Mac and cheese separately.
The serving sizes were huge. It didn’t come in a meat tray in the traditional way (I think it does at times, I’m not sure if they were super busy or because we had a small cramped table) but holy man we all took left overs.
Mac and cheese- perfection. Exactly like it should be in a smoke house environment. With crumbs on top. Ten on ten.
The pulled pork? Phenomenal. Worth it to pair with another item as I did. My partner ordered the full order so I slopped some onto his and we enjoyed it the following day.
Brisket? Tender. Nice thick smoke crust. Simple and effective.
The coleslaw was alright, to be fair it was very good but there was no comparison to the rest of the flavours and options so it didn’t stand a chance in the moment. It paired well on the slider samplers though with the different types of smoked meats.
I one hundred percent recommend this place. If you are a smoked meat fanatic this place is for YOU. I have two smokers of my own, and the love is REAL.
I’ve also heard the owner has a spice and sauce line that you’re able to purchase some items from, though I’m not sure where they’re sold.
The service was great too. Polite and friendly. On the ball.
Granted it was their grand opening so they were working out the kinks, but I would say it’s well worth the patience as they get into the groove. You will not be...
Read moreAs an avid bbq guy when I go into smokehouses I have high expectations. First off the atmosphere is very nice. The place is live. The waitress we had was absolutely fantastic. We ordered the stuff brisket mozzarella balls which was a 10/10. Great flavor reminded me of boudin balls back home in Louisiana. Then we ordered the street corn dip 100/10which was my favourite. The corn was sweet and the dip was creamy which went well with the tortilla chips. We also ordered the devil eggs which was decent 6/10. They didn’t have that much flavor to them but the pickle added a nice zest to them. Then me and my party of 6 ordered two of platters that feed 4 people. Expectations were high. We ordered every meat available but was disappointed that they ran out of pork belly. It took us a while to get our food because it was busy. We were there for a 7:30pm reservation so the place was busy with it being a Friday night(July 4th). Once our food came to us we were ready to dive in and then we realized our food was cold. The waitress told us our food was the third order up but it seemed like it was under the lamps sitting for a while. Cold beef is not a favourite of mines. The beef rib we paid 25$ was cold and we all know want a beef rib nice and hot with the juices still flowing. We will give the business another try when they are not as busy. The taste of the meal was was...
Read moreWe decided to step out of our routine last night and try something new—and Smoking Outlaws blew us away. The space is stunning with stylish décor, a spacious layout, and a gorgeous patio that sets the perfect vibe.
Our server, Nat, was an absolute gem—welcoming, knowledgeable, and full of personality. She guided us through the menu and recommended their exclusive house beer, crafted by Rebellion Brewery just for them. It was the perfect start.
We kicked things off with the pulled pork mozza balls, and honestly, I could’ve devoured a whole plate of those for my main. Pure deliciousness. My husband and I split the 3-meat platter, and every bite was packed with flavor—perfectly balanced and not overpoweringly smoky. The brisket? Melt-in-your-mouth perfection.
We wrapped up with a rich cheesecake since, sadly, the sticky toffee pudding was sold out (we may have given Nat a bit of good-natured grief over that one!).
This place far surpassed our expectations, and we’ll absolutely be back for more...
