The worst Chinese BBQ food ever!! Every food item offered was dry and stale.
The $13.35 "Roasted Chicken with rice 燒雞飯" was terrible; both the chicken leg and rice were extremely dry and stale, as if cooked days ago. It takes skill to ruin a chicken leg so badly that even novice chefs couldn't replicate it. Sheesh! I airfry better Roast Chicken at home than this place!!
As if that weren't bad enough, I had a piece of gristle stuck in my esophagus, forcing me to run to the washroom and induce vomiting to clear the passage. That was painful; I hadn't done that in many years. It needs very dry and hard meat to get stuck in my esophagus!
Last but not least, its roast chicken rice only has one chicken leg. That means it cost $13 for one chicken leg. The last time I ate a chicken leg this expensive was in the Bahamas in 2001, by the cruise dock. It was US$8 each. But it was delicious.
Not just the chicken is dry, their $14.30 "Roast Duck w/Rice 燒鴨飯" was dry and stale. Not as bad as their roast chicken, but compared to other similar stalls, it was considerably drier!
Their $6.48 "[Brined Pork] Tongue 鹵水豬脷" was also unusually dry and stale. It was...
Read moreThis is a a great BBQ joint. They do both full meat orders and prepare eat in or take out dishes with rice and some veg. They do roasted pork with crackling skin, bbq pork, duck and chicken. The chicken brings back memories of China Town in Victoria and Toronto. The best items are the chicken and the roasted pork though the BBQ pork is not bad. They chop and slice there or let you take whole items home. The rice and veg dishes are nothing special but the meat is well prepared. They have pop and juice as well. I saw someone grab a tea from here but I never see it on the menu. Staff here are very friendly. Likely the most friendly of all the stalls in the food court. Parking is available from all the mall lots. They are also close to two bus stops on Cambie and Number 3 Rd respectively. Finally they are a short walk from the Aberdeen Canada...
Read moreThe best Chinese BBQ in town! This location has always been my go to BBQ place whenever I crave for their roasted duck, BBQ pork, soy sauce chicken, and roasted goose. The quality of the food was consistent and never disappointed me. The duck skin was cooked to perfection as the skin was crispy and savoury. The soy sauce chicken was also excellent as the meat was juicy and sucks up all the sauce into the meat. Their BBQ pork was on point as well as the meat was succulent...
